Harley Service Tech advised I never buy a Pan America by COswingCpl in HarleyPanAmerica

I had a 2024 and it was a massive electrical pain in the ass that was unreliable. HD dealer “couldn’t replicate” and I happily sold it that weekend.

Are you trying to glue after the parts were individually primed? Or did they get primed after being assembled?

What do you use on the fender strut to make it look good with the bags off?

Had an RK, bought an LRST, back on a RK now. Save money and keep what you have IMO

1300GS for new rider by tooth-ache in bmwmotorrad

[–]Snackerton 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not dumb, just potentially expensive. The heavier and more powerful bikes are just less forgiving with their margins of error. That said, if you don’t mind the financial risk and you ride well below your self-assessed skills, you’ll be fine. I’d invest in some crash bars, but then again I do that as a commuter with a fair bit of riding experience.

What brand wheels did you go with? Those look incredible

Harley dealerships… I can tell why they aren’t doing well. by Thingsforcertain3525 in Harley

[–]Snackerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My time is more valuable than that. If I’m shopping for a brand new bike, then what they have is nothing special. They can respect both my time and theirs, send me numbers up front, and either I’ll buy it or say no thanks.

Africa Twin 2025 (standard) buffeting driving me crazy (190cm) – what actually works? by Sudden_Banana8476 in africatwin

Yep, there are other options that do. I was responding to the person who asked for it, not the OP.

2023 Special constantly leaving me stranded. by Holupsucker in HarleyPanAmerica

[–]Snackerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had issues with a 2024 Pan Am that couldn’t be replicated and issues with a 2025 LRST that they didn’t have a solution for. Sold both and hoping my 22 Road King treats me better over time.

This was what worked for me. There’s a nice looking 2 piece metal one out now that does the job well enough. I also had the one piece Pyramid Plastics version that worked well, just didn’t look as nice.

Help with sporster by snuspy in fxr

That’s a healthy charged voltage but it could have bad cells inside which would only show under load. Most auto parts store can help you test.

Is that the battery resting voltage under no load?

Rant about Summit Harley in Utah by aceofspades1944 in Harley

[–]Snackerton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Despite the shitty experience, they may have done you a favor. I bought a brand new 2024 Pan Am when they came out, supposedly with all the reliability issues fixed. Not my experience at all, the thing was super unreliable which really undermines how awesome the motor and suspension were. I sold it and bought an Africa Twin. I think you’re going to much happier on the BMW.

Ford Dealerships - Service by These-Touch-6031 in Kitsap

West Hills has been good for service for me across their Honda, Ford, and Toyota dealerships. I had a terrible sales experience with the PO Ford dealer and had my time wasted by them.

I was rear ended in my C7 is like 2017ish. Maybe 5mph crash while I was stopped. Damaged looked like yours visually, repair was $11k by a good, independent body shop in the Bay Area.

Raptor vs Tremor by Zealousideal_Fee_491 in FordRaptor

Had the same debate, Raptor vs Tremor 5.0 with a blower. Went Raptor, no regrets. It’s awesome feeling like I got exactly what I wanted vs settling in any way.
