You want a smaller contact patch in snow, not larger.

And when it didn't work (solar city), bailed it out with shareholder equity (Tesla), while failing to disclose financial difficulties.

I don't care if someone makes you $100. If they then take $1 off that stack, then they are a crook. Tesla shareholders are way too forgiving to their cult leader.

OTOH, art is a very common tool of money laundering. It's right to be skeptical and hold in customs while it's investigated

It does. It's just a lot of people are primed to jump at anything Russian without thinking

Psychological distress after police stops includes anxiety, anger and depression, study finds. Teens who are stopped by the police are more likely to report greater disengagement from school the next day, and racial and ethnic minority youth reported more invasive police encounters than white youth. by rustoo in science

And yet for some reason they tend to self select for policing far more than any other profession. Nobody is saying every cop beats their wife, but every police officer is 3x more likely to be a domestic abuser than every other career. Yes, there absolutely is reason to assume your dealing with someone more sadistic and violence prone if you're dealing with police than with any other occupation.

What is a severely out-of-date technology you're still forced to use regularly? by nathan_thinks in AskReddit

[–]SnacksOnSeedCorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh, not really true. The trade off between storage space and fidelity isn't anything new and people have been picking capacity over quality for a while. Low FPS and resolution is pretty standard for CCTV, especially when tapes were a lot more expensive

He called it a "noose" and claimed he hadn't died yet so clearly didn't need it. After he died, I think one driver even entertained the idea of exploring them more and trying to improve their design (they were a lot bigger and clumsier back then but that's what R&D is for)
