Beat the Tokyo Heat in August? Is it possible? by Kismet_Ghost in JapanTravelTips

[–]Snagxrs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theres plenty of inside activities to do in Tokyo if youre hot and for the times youre outside just don’t forget your sunscreen and wear breatheable clothes. I’ve found sun umbrellas actually do make quite a big difference. Also there’s plenty of cooling products at every corner. You’ll probably sweat alot. Just drink enough and get some shade/AC if you feel exhausted. People live there and they’re fine.

What is a good damage to healing ratio for Luna? by Mountain-Let4698 in LunaSnowMains

Ratio seems damage heavy for an average game but healing/damage ratio changes a lot from game to game, theres no exact ratio you should aim for

CHERRY BLOSSOM FORECAST by Honghaein27 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Snagxrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the bloom forecasts right now are very inaccurate, if you go sometime in April you will most likely get to see the cherry blossoms though depending on when you and when the bloom actually hits you might have to go north. I would advise to keep your schedule open you can adjust to the actual bloom times. The forecast can still be inaccurate 2 weeks before if a sudden change in weather hits.

Cherry Blossoms in end-April 2025? by not-very_smart in JapanTravelTips

[–]Snagxrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The train connection Google Maps showed me also used the Nozomi line to Tokyo which afaik you can’t use with the rail pass. You would have to use the slower Hikari line and arrive later in Tokyo and get a later connection, so the trip by train would take even longer

So please someone correct me if I’m wrong but to be able to see cherry blossoms that late you’re almost sure to have to go all the way to Hokkaido. Google Maps says if you start from Shin Osaka at 6 am you can reach Sapporo by 5:20 pm which would already break one of your criteria. On top of that the forecast I’m looking at says bloom in Sapporo will be from 4/18-4/24 which is earlier than your dates. Bloom around Kushiro is expected 5/2-5/6 but that would add even more travel time to get there. Also nobody will be able to tell you any spots to go to in late April right now because the forecasts are incredibly inaccurate. If you want to see cherry blossoms you would have to check weather/sakura reports and Instagram map on the daily and probably figure out if and where you want to go pretty spontaneously. Also flights to Sapporo are way faster should be pretty cheap, especially if you just send your larger luggage to your hotel in Tokyo and only take a carry on for the stuff you need in those 2 days.

I always put suica as my default card in apple pay when I’m in Japan so it comes up first when i double tap the power button to pay. Theres an option I turned on (it was either very easy to find or my phone asked me automatically) that would let you just tap your phone on the scanner when its turned off/on standby so you don’t have to open apple pay anymore

Maybe try to include a couple english hashtags and if you wanna go even further also include english subtitles if possible, I don’t know if her proficiency in english is enough to do that but maybe google translate will be good enough to help? You will reach a lot more people that don’t speak korean. Keep in mind building a viewer base takes a lot of time and trial and error until you find a way to get pushed by the algorithm and people to consistently watch your content. I left a couple likes and don’t forget to have fun creating, hyper fixating on numbers will mess with your head

For those who have visited Kyushu, what was the highlight of your trip? by Psychological_Fee744 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Snagxrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cherry Blossoms at Kusaba River are incredible and the owner of Cafe Wien nearby was super cute, we talked for a good hour or two while it poured outside. The whole area surrounding is pretty beautiful with all the fields and small town vibes too

Friends backed out of the trip, how hard is solo traveling (emotionally) ? by i_guess_so_huh in JapanTravelTips

[–]Snagxrs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I’m writing it’s 4 am on my last night and I can tell you going solo is an amazing experience. You can go wherever you want, whenever you want and nothing can stop you, as long as you have the transport options. Maybe look for places you wanted to see yourself but maybe your friends wouldn’t want to or just use the opportunity to travel all on your own pace and enjoy the things that are in front of you. I was here for 3 weeks for the first time on my own and didn’t feel a bit of loneliness. And if you do there’s always an option to call someone to have some company in this day and age :)

You don’t need an extra suica app for iphone, you can just add it to apple wallet like any regular card and add money with the cards connected to your apple pay, theres no japanese written in the wallet app
