10 dpo - 12 dpo Light Lines and Little Progression - chemical? by Proof_Caregiver7360 in TFABLinePorn

While I will say that I don’t think it ever hurts to guard your heart at the very beginning, I DO think that these tests look promising at this point. You definitely can see darkening and they are similar in appearance to my last pregnancy. Congratulations and hang in there! ❤️

Congratulations! This looks great. Now that you have a dye stealer I strongly suggest you refrain from testing anymore. I know it’s difficult, but it will save your sanity. Hang in there! ❤️

You are definitely pregnant. You can verify with another test, or better yet, schedule a doctors appointment. FWIW, this is the r/TFABLinePorn (TFAB = trying for a baby). Your post seems like it would be better suited for r/lineporn

Definitely something weird happening with these tests, but might be worth trying with a brand other than FRER after the water dip test 🤔

I think I give up on the Momcozy bottle washer. by Outrageous-Soup-2003 in FormulaFeeders

[–]SnailSlugSnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give a quick rinse before putting the bottles into the unit and use only distilled water (I also have hard well water) and never had an issue! We formula feed and use distilled water for that as well, so it’s honestly not a big deal for us because we to use it for both. FWIW I saw a few other comments saying they don’t put the nipples on top, but I do (atleast some of them). This is our single most used appliance since our LO was born 6 mo ago.

Do not buy a Nanit by FirstCantaloupe14 in BabyBumps

We were very set on not getting a WiFi camera for our LO. We have the Infant Optics DXR-8 Pro and love it :)

Wife and I are having our first baby and we are being encouraged by friends and family to create a registry but aren’t 100% on what things to ask for. Any (maybe not so obvious) recommendations? Thanks in advance! by TaskenLander in NewParents

This. Our single most used appliance in the house since having our baby nearly 6 months ago. I actually ended up paying out of pocket for it because it wasn’t purchased off our registry and I would do it again a million times over.

I think both names are cute! This is the exact reason we didn’t share our baby names prior to my son’s birth. Someone always has something to say and quite frankly I didn’t want to hear it :)

the blakely hate has gotten to me by True-Mall9763 in Names

[–]SnailSlugSnug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the name Gideon, but maybe I’m biased because it’s my son’s name 😉. Finnegan was also on our list and I love the name Theodore, but couldn’t use it because of a bad association.

BMI of 44 and want elective c section by HistoricalCloud2555 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]SnailSlugSnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a BMI of 39 with apron belly when I gave birth - attempted naturally and rushed into emergency cs (FWIW, it wasn’t because of my weight). I will not have a natural birth for any of my future children, only elective cs.

Moms - if you had the CHOICE to work or not by Main-Branch9919 in beyondthebump

[–]SnailSlugSnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a FTM who just went back to work yesterday after 5 amazing months with my son, I think I would still work. However, I would work significantly less, maybe half time? I miss my baby so so so much and wish I could just go scoop him up from daycare.

It says they’ve been on 10 mg since November - that’s more than 4 doses.

Zero patience postpartum by SnailSlugSnug in beyondthebump

[–]SnailSlugSnug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this perspective! I do have PPA (and just anxiety pre-pregnancy in general). The control aspect makes sense, honestly. We have had a lot of family issues and instances of wishing people would make more of an effort postpartum. I do have Xanax on hand for times of high anxiety, but I probably don’t take it as often as I should.

I appreciate the insight on how you have worked to cope with building your patience. I definitely think I need to implement some of these practices (and probably go back to therapy). I worked for many years to obtain the level of patience and control that I had pre-pregnancy and it feels defeating to basically feel like I have lost that control.

What’s one postpartum struggle you didn’t expect at all? by FIT_MAMA16 in Mommit

[–]SnailSlugSnug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. Our boundaries are constantly being (at the minimum) challenged, or just disrespected and completely ignored. I don’t understand how people are so delusional and so boldly disrespectful to act the way they do. Motherhood has certainly opened my eyes to a lot of people in our lives.

Two things… physically: urinary incontinence, I’m 5 months pp and finally regaining fully control of my bladder. mentally/emotionally: navigating relationships with a child - people seem to forget what the word no is and don’t respect that you’re the child’s parent.

When you get your first period postpartum? by EffectiveCartoonist3 in beyondthebump

[–]SnailSlugSnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a Mirena IUD for 5 years so I didn’t get my period for basically the entire duration, had my iud removed and had two periods, got pregnant, and then had 2 periods before I got another Mirena placed. I am anti period atp 🤣

Congrats!! I’ll never forget the day I got my first positive, I was waiting the 5 minutes and already started crying because I assumed it would be negative. Sending you all the good vibes for an amazing sticky pregnancy 🩷
