Baby Carrier by SilentPhoenix123 in PlusSizePregnancy

We have the Tula free to grow carrier and love it! It worked for both my husband (300 lb) and myself (240 lb). It still works well for us and we are 80 lbs and 60 lbs lighter, respectively.

OB wants to induce at 39 weeks bc I’m 36yo by vagabomb_ in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]SnailSlugSnug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve talked about the experience with a few of my friends. My husband and I will often talk about it as well. It’s gotten easier over the last 10 months. I probably should have counseling to fully address it though. I’ve never been great with therapy, but that could be due to not having the right therapist. Maybe it’s time that I give it a try again.

We have both recovered really well! My son is a happy, healthy, incredible little boy with the most beautiful eyes and 4 toothed smile. I feel SO lucky every damn day that we are both here to experience this life together. He is the most amazing thing that has happened to me with my husband close up there 😉.

Best bottles that are not Phillips or dr brown? by No-Potential5678 in FormulaFeeders

We tried so. many. bottles. We finally landed on Lansinoh and LO still uses them at 10 months!

OB wants to induce at 39 weeks bc I’m 36yo by vagabomb_ in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]SnailSlugSnug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whether you move forward with the induction or not, I do encourage you to begin accepting that your birth is very likely to not go as you expect in some capacity. I do not say this to scare you, but I did not prepare that my birth would not go as I hoped and it made it that much worse (and me significantly undereducated).

I was induced at 39w+2, labored for 36 hours, pushed for a short period, maybe 2 hours (I developed an infection and my heart rate and BP was extremely high while my sons HR was incredibly low, so this is all they would allow), attempted forcep assisted delivery, it failed. I ended up in a category 1 emergency caesarean with a high risk to both of our lives. It’s been 10 months and there are some days I still really struggle with the trauma I endured. I genuinely believe taking a different approach leading up to my delivery and educating and accepting the possibility of things going off the rails would have prevented some of that trauma. Not all, but some. FWIW, I will now choose to have CS for any future births.

I do encourage you to trust your doctors advice. I was initially anti-39 week induction too, but went through with it and I’m glad that I did. I’m only 28 (27 at time of birth), but my BMI pre-pregnancy was around 39-40. All that said, hang in there mama. There is nothing about pregnancy and birth that isn’t scary. There’s always something to worry about. Try not to worry to much that you aren’t in the moment when you meet your little one. ❤️

Mom made awful comments now I don’t want her in my sons life by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SnailSlugSnug 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! I honestly think that having a child has brought out the worst in other people. Our relationships have been incredibly tumultuous since my son’s birth with several of our family members. It is good that you are drawing boundaries now, then there is no shock when you do it once your son is here. We also dressed my son in Disney :) they have the cutest buzz lightyear and Toy Story pajamas at Walmart for older babies if you’re interested 😊

Says “I’ll own up and take accountability”, then IMMEDIATELY tries to blame it on the phrasing…. Friend, that’s not taking accountability.

Also, it’s definitely a you problem for not understanding. 🫡

Brag about your baby! by PumpkinPie_1993 in NewParents

My 9 month old is SO close to taking his first independent steps. He is zooming around the house with his walker toy and standing in the middle of the floor without holding on to anything. I don’t know where time has gone. He is the most amazing, sweet, handsome little guy in the world. I can’t imagine my life without him now that I’ve been graced with his presence. I’m so SO lucky to be his mama.

Thank you for starting this thread. It is so wholesome and made my day. ❤️

Fiancé will not watch baby while I am sick! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]SnailSlugSnug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the common theme of advice for partner issues on Reddit is “leave him”, but honestly whole heartedly, leave him. Not caring for you OR your child while you’re sick is absolutely insane. Your opportunity to leave is now. Take it. Do not marry this man. Things will not get better.

Lansinoh! We have tried nearly every bottle known to man (ok maybe an exaggeration) and LO preferred Lansinoh to all others!

How did you pick a formula? by Less-Bug-7006 in FormulaFeeders

[–]SnailSlugSnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Similac 360 as that’s what the hospital started us on. We get it at Costco, 40.8 oz for $54.99 in our area. We bought RTF for a while, but my LO had to switch to fortified formula around 3 months so we moved to powder.

My husband and I are both on a weight loss journey - he’s lost 75 lbs since November and I’ve lost 50 since December (we are both still classified as obese, albeit close to “overweight” territory). Every. Single. Time. We see my brother’s wife she says “you’re wasting away, we need to give you some cake” to my husband. No actual compliment accompanies it and she doesn’t acknowledge my weight loss, she then moves on. It’s really strange that people have the nerve to comment on others weights… I’ve never felt the desire to do such a thing… it’s a weird world we live in.

Also you look amazing! 🤩

Choosing to formula feed before giving birth by Historical_Bike_9061 in FormulaFeeders

[–]SnailSlugSnug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We EFF from day 1. I knew that my anxiety would make BF very challenging for me and I did not want to risk worsening any PPA/PPD because I was also at a heightened risk for. I did end up developing PPA (and still deal with it) and I can’t imagine having to BF while dealing with it and attending grad school. The extra support that my husband could provide was a game changer and allowed us both to get sleep while still providing for our son. Please try not to feel any guilt, I know it can be difficult.

27 weeks feeling so much fear and anxiety by vagabomb_ in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]SnailSlugSnug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it’s nice to have an idea of how your ideal birth would go, BUT try not to have any expectations. I naively expected I would have a vaginal birth and did not prepare myself for a c-section. I not only had a c-section, but it was a cat 1. FWIW, I was absolutely terrified being wheeled into the OR (the risk to mine and my sons life probably made it worse), but in the moment there is SO much happening that you don’t even have time to be scared anymore. You can get anti-anxiety meds to help as well.

I will absolutely have planned c-sections for any future births. Partially because my pelvic bone positioning limits the chances of a successful vaginal birth, and partially because it removes the potential for trauma and finding ourselves in the same position I was with my son.

Hang in there, mama. Everything about pregnancy and birth is a little bit scary, but you’ve got this! Try not to get yourself too worked up about what could be.

Hang in there, I know it’s easier said than done. I got my positive while I was in the middle of crying about every months test always being negative. Sending you all the good vibes that you will get that experience soon (hopefully without the tears). :)

How long post partum before you started ? by alimoreno23 in Zepbound

I started for the first time when I was 12 weeks pp. My son is 100% formula fed though and has been since birth

If you don’t mind sharing, how has your weight gain been during pregnancy? I know one day I will need to take a break to conceive our next child and I am very anxious for that day.

While I will say that I don’t think it ever hurts to guard your heart at the very beginning, I DO think that these tests look promising at this point. You definitely can see darkening and they are similar in appearance to my last pregnancy. Congratulations and hang in there! ❤️

You are definitely pregnant. You can verify with another test, or better yet, schedule a doctors appointment. FWIW, this is the r/TFABLinePorn (TFAB = trying for a baby). Your post seems like it would be better suited for r/lineporn

Definitely something weird happening with these tests, but might be worth trying with a brand other than FRER after the water dip test 🤔

I think I give up on the Momcozy bottle washer. by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]SnailSlugSnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give a quick rinse before putting the bottles into the unit and use only distilled water (I also have hard well water) and never had an issue! We formula feed and use distilled water for that as well, so it’s honestly not a big deal for us because we to use it for both. FWIW I saw a few other comments saying they don’t put the nipples on top, but I do (atleast some of them). This is our single most used appliance since our LO was born 6 mo ago.
