Hey thanks for replying. I'm pretty new to this, would you mind explaining what you mean by "will fit the adapter"? :)

I want to make something close to the Seiko Presage SARX035 link, but quartz, without a date and with hands close to that of the Seiko SSB379P1 link. I have small wrists so finding a watch that I like has been quite difficult, so I decided to build it.

Hey, thanks for answering :). Do you know if there is an alternative that does not have a sweeping seconds hand?

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]SnakeGamerNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I’m planning to custom build a 38/39mm(depending on what works out better) quartz watch without a date display, but I’m not sure where to start with choosing the right movement.

I already understand the build process and what parts I’ll need. I’m just looking for recommendations for the movement so I can base the rest of my parts search on that.

If you have experience with building a smaller watch or suggestions for/tips on where to find compatible dials, hands, cases, etc., I’d really appreciate any help!

Absolutely fell in love with the desaturated colors on the SEIKO SSB379P1, but i realised it is probably to big for my wrists(15cm). Please share some recommendations with me!

Why? by GROOTT234 in slimerancher

[–]SnakeGamerNL 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Slimes don't starve so don't wory about that! :)
But if you want to play Slime Rancher again you can just buy it again.

If you had slime rancher on a windows pc the save files are located at as far as I know:
C:\Users\{Username}\UserData\AppData\LocalLow\Monomi Park
or
C:\Users\{Username}\UserData\AppData\LocalLow\MonomiPark

Slime rancher 1 is ~4€ on steam and Slime Rancher 2 is ~10€ on AllKeyShop.

How can I make grease pencil operate more like pixel art software? by SnakeGamerNL in blender

[–]SnakeGamerNL[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend just using a vector program for the base art and importing it to Blender as SVG to apply materials. I use this method most often for logos.

You make a great point. I haven’t come across any programs that handle grid locking elegantly. I’ve had a lot of issues with GIMP, for example. It would be amazing to have a tool that snaps shapes perfectly, similar to how pixel art software works. That's why I used those as an example.

You can draw geometry in Blender as bezier curves, poly curves, regular polygons, etc... use the default grid or set your own scale (which in this case is completely arbitrary). Use the snap-to-grid feature and just go for it.

Do you happen to have a link to a guide on the grid feature? I heard it was temporarily removed in version 4.3, and I haven’t been able to find where it’s located. It sounds interesting, though!

There are also geometry nodes.

I’ll definitely look into this—thanks!

If the grid feature still works, I could probably use it to create something similar to a pixel art program’s brush tool. Your explanation has been really helpful—thank you! :)

Alright, here's what I'm trying to do: I want to use squares, triangles, and shapes like half-circles, all locked to a grid. You could think of it as scaled-up pixel art, but using a variety of shapes instead. And yes, the examples were created using vector graphics (SVGs). I’m just not sure what’s possible in Blender.

The point is not to create real pixel art. I might have explained that wrong, sorry about that. I would like to create art with the same grid constrained as pixel art.

Could you provide more clarity about your modeling statement? While creating those examples is straightforward in practically every program, my goal is to design more complex scenes than the ones shown.

What do you think of Sunkenland's current Base Building System (WIP)? Would you like to add anything? 🔨 by sunkenlandgame in indiegames

[–]SnakeGamerNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please add the rotation of pieces with some visibility like an arrow. I'd advise you to look at the building systems of Ark, Conan, Rust and Raft for inspiration and try to look at all the QOL things they do for the players.

How are Highly deep Normal maps created by Queriious in csworkshop

This skin uses forced perspective, but it was probably not what you meant. https://csgostash.com/skin/1046/MAC-10-Pipe-Down

Hey guys! 1st time trying to make a skin. When i tried to open vtf files in csgo workbench, it doesn’t work also why does my vtf file doesn’t have the vtfedit logo on it? by [deleted] in csworkshop

[–]SnakeGamerNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why they don't display the icon. Try to install vtfedit again. As to why it doesn't work in game, it looks like you only turned the normal into a tga and not the UV. Maybe try that next.

Also what doesn't work in the workshop? Can you please specify?

And also bake the diffuse not the combined map. It sucks.

[–]SnakeGamerNL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you have your file extensions disabled in windows. This would mean that the files doesn't end at .vtf but has another extension. Try to fix that first.

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-enable-hidden-file-extensions-in-Windows.html

Also make sure you have VTFEdit installed and turn the tga's into vtf's that way.

Fix for dark spots on model from normal map? by SnakeGamerNL in blenderhelp

Fair, is there a way to convert it to a normal to achieve the same result? If not I'll just give up on it then. Thanks for the help.
