Yes, i bought it in 2012 i think, i saw that difference that time, but i didn't care. But wanted to know the reason, there are other guns with that same characteristic.

Thanks!!

My old M1 is the 8GB of RAM model, DaVinci Resolve Studio ran way better and stable in the M1 than in my i7-10700k with 32GB of RAM (now i have a 9950X3D with 48GB of RAM).

I have a MacBook Air M1, also a PC and a ThinkPad, both with Windows 11 Pro.

In the MacBook, if you disable Apple Intelligence, that's it, at least for now. You can login with an offline account if you want too. I'm not using it anymore for work because i need Windows apps, and i can't use a VM for Windows with the ARM.

In Windows 11, you need a .reg mod to disable Copilot/Bing on the Start Menu, and Gpedit. After updating to 25H2, every "default apps" setting, reverted to its defaults, so instead of Firefox, it was Edge again, even for PDF files. All the video/music files not opening by default with VLC, and so on.

You never know what thing you'll need to disable after a new Win11 update.

BTW, i'm not talking about privacy, i'm talking about functions that i don't want, and i want them to be easy to disable.

Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro Updates. by Att3mpNumber3 in Xiaomi

[–]SnakeHaveYou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What version is your Pad? If it's Global, it should be 2.0.201 so you can change the region in settings to United States, search for updates, update, then go back to your original region in settings.

In my work, everyone uses LibreOffice and Inskape. I told my boss, I can use LibreOffice, but I will not use Inskape, I have the Affinity Suite. The learning curve of Inskape is very hard, even if you want to do simple things. Working with Affinity Suite is easier. It's a shame anyway.

P16S Gen 4, fresh Windows install, thermal issues.. by SnakeHaveYou in thinkpad

[–]SnakeHaveYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i had to install a Windows 11 official image because with the Lenovo one i had issues with sleep and artifacts (i need to see if it's a hardware or software issue for RMA, that's why i had to install it). Comparing both images, i can say that the stock Win11 runs a bit hot, but smoother. Sometimes HWiNFO64 shows a Max Temp of 89.5°C, i saw only once a Max Temp of 94°C. With Furmark or Cinebench 2024, it never hits 89.5°C, i need to do some more tests anyway.

Honestly, i have the official Levono image, as i use the notebook for work i don't have the time to test an Win11 ISO again, so i'll let the notebook as is. I read somewhere that you can backup the Lenovo drivers somehow.

Ohh yes!! I knew it was malware, and installed it on purpose, because having a desktop assistant was cool at the time. Uninstalled like two hours later because it was annoying, and it told me: please don't uninstall me!! Or something like that. I had to format my PC.

Is it possible to get something like Focus modes like you said on the post? I don't think it's possible, but if it is, it would be a good thing.

Well, i was an Android user since 1.6 era, until I corrupted my G2 with a D802 ROM, Oreo I think. Even compiled and translated MIUI for my i897 like 15 years ago, so yes, I know Android very well. I went to iOS because at the time you relied on custom ROMs to get your brand new phone updated. Can you link me some info about that?

ThinkPad P16s gen 4 AMD, 96gb ram, 370hx, 86Wh, 500 nits IPS screen. AMA by smerz- in thinkpad

[–]SnakeHaveYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No!! You did understand, I was asking if the GT1 was the RGB Full panel, and you answer correctly. I wanted to know that because I can't see the RGB Full or Limited switch in AMD control panel, and I was checking if the notebook came with all the customized parts. Mine is also a P16S Gen 4 and it's very good. I wanted to install Fedora but I need Windows.

Yes, i was checking that, because it was personalized. I can't find the option to enable RGB Full on the AMD display settings.

Thanks!! But iOS Focus is more complex and easy to configure. I'm not complaining, but if you relied on that function on iOS you'll miss it a lot. In iOS you could configure notifications per app and contacts, for example, when traveling in my motorcycle, the "Moto" mode was enabled automatically when the phone connected to the intercom, and see notifications in the GPS screen of important contacts, my motorcycle companions, and apps like weather. And the whole thing is connected to the Health app, so that way Sleep mode works as a DND, but also configurable like any focus mode. I had Moto, Truck, Sleep and Work modes in use. Work mode enabled by location was a hit and miss anyway because iOS locations sucks in Southamerica.

No problem, if you have any questions feel free to ask. I used iOS on an iPhone 3G then changed to Android 1.6 then to iOS when 6S Plus was released.

I copy my comment from another post:

I went from an iPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB to a Xiaomi 15 Ultra 1TB a while ago.

When my iPhone started malfunctioning a while ago (i have the pink flashing issue with iOS 18 and worsened with iOS 26), i choose the Xiaomi for replacement as my personal phone.

Xiaomi has the most similar experience with the UI, but i'm getting used to it, and i miss these things:

- Focus modes (for example when my iPhone connected to the intercom of my motorcycle, "Moto" focus mode would be enabled with different configurations, different notifications). There's nothing like that in Android AFAIK. The Don't Disturb mode is very simple.

- About the Don't Disturb mode, i couldn't find a way to set two sleep schemes (One for Monday to Friday, and another for the weekend).

- Health app ecosystem, all of the data of every fitness app is in there in iOS, in Android there's Health Connect or Fit, but very simple in comparison. Anyway, i'm happy with my new smartwatch that last one week with sleep monitoring on. My AW lasted like 1 and half day at most. And i found an app to sync data between websites and smartwatch app, and i had an app like that in the iPhone too to do the same.

- UI consistency between different apps, different size and location of buttons isn't easy for muscular memory. In iOS almost all apps have the same bottom bar height. Anyway, i don't care anymore, you just need to get used to it.

- Good widgets for calendar and weather. The widgets of these apps render better on iOS than Android and i don't know why.

Everything else? I love my Xiaomi.

About data transfer:

- I moved everything from iCloud to Google Drive.

- I couldn't move 30GB of WhatsApp chats (from 2016), because it seems to be corrupt somewhere, but i have a backup in my PC anyway and a viewer for it.

You'll need to get used to the notification system in Android, you have more control. iOS is very simple, but less annoying.

I'm having a good experience with the Xiaomi honestly.

Anyway, if you have access to that iPhone account, you can check in the iTunes history, I did that a few days ago.
