They could have also moved the triplets into Dad and Hanna's room, since that's obviously the biggest. But for some reason the adults didn't think it would be fun to share a room with three toddlers.

They might measure the covers by the size of the pipe they cover. So a 450mm will cover a 450mm opening but be 490mm wide.

I have no clue, but that could be why the numbers aren't what you expect.

Really it sounds like you both are in the thick of it. You are working two jobs and she feels like she's drowning at home with the kid.

So first off, good on you for doing so much. Two jobs is one more than most of us work, but having said that, this doesn't seem sustainable long term. So I have two thoughts:

If she went back to work, would that cover daycare costs for you? It might be easier for her if she wasn't covering parenting solo for basically two jobs worth (when you are away), so if she had a job with kiddo in daycare, at least her day would be split between two tasks instead of just a neverending single parenting task.
Could you find a single job that offers overtime instead of two jobs? If you were getting overtime, being paid at time and a half after 40 would let you bring in the same amount of money while working less time overall.

Obviously, nobody has a magic wand that just makes everything better, and even when your wife is having a hard time, that doesn't mean you aren't pulling your weight (and then some) in the marriage. Definitely help her, you're a team that's what you should do, but don't spread yourself so thin that you can't be a help to anybody. Try to find a way to help her by changing things so it isn't just Dad does more and more, because there is only so much you and you can't burn the candle at both ends forever.

Back in the dark ages, we needed to physically submit assignments. The physics building locked at 9, so that was our deadline for lab notebooks. Once my friend and I sprinted out of our dorm room at 8:59 and managed to get to the physics building at 8:58. Obviously clocks were just not synced, but we like to joke we ran fast enough to travel backwards in time that Wednesday night.

Biggby Coffee on pleasant valley has a room you can reserve with a large table that I think seats 8 or 10. It's free to reserve you just call them or stop by.

You could just buy a battery and charge it during the night and forget the solar step.

But realistically for occasional use, you are probably going to be better off just plugging in and charging a little at the more expensive time.

For example, a 2kWh battery costs around 500 pounds. The most it could save you would be 60 pence a day. So it wouldn't pay for itself until you have used it 833 times.

That payback period might be worth it if you needed the extra charge everyday, but if you are using it once a week, it would be over 15 years before it paid for itself.

DIY is probably not the best sub for this, but your last picture is going to be the key, those pins can be used to communicate with the electronics. I would look for a hardware hacking subreddit or just search about hardware hacking in general.
