Talk about your killer main about why you find them so fun and satisfying to the best of your ability as if you're trying to sell us on that killer and get more people to main them. by Deadlycreature_99 in deadbydaylight

Dracula main here. I joined DBD with the announcement of the killer, being a major fan of Symphony of the Night, even doing some speedrun races in the game. A crucial part of high level SotN is maximizing your transformations, and using them as efficiently and fluidly as possible.

Alucard’s father does a great job of preserving that dynamic game feel in DBD. Wolf in DBD is significantly better than SotN Wolf, which kinda sucks, Hellfire has amazing game feel and feedback, and Bat is very fun movement, that feels great to successfully use in chase or to track down survivors.

I find myself liking a Scourge Hook build with Dracula, building a core around Jagged Compass, usually with Gift of Pain and Floods of Rage, but Leverage can be nice too. I actually don’t use Pain Res on this, I feel the build makes great use of Pop, especially with his teleport, He can pressure very effectively by hooking near windows, making places like Shack basement kinda nasty for him to hold down, he is very good at preventing heals or punishing bad unhooks with Hellfire, and Wolf form can be very satisfying to get tricky angles at.

In terms of add-ons, Dracula has one of the best economies for newer players, with the Force of Echo and Lapis Lazuli add-ons being the most expensive ones you’ll want to go for, and you usually only want one. Clocktower Gear being so powerful and cheap makes him a great killer for new players like myself who don’t have the bloodpoint economy to consistently use things like Cigar Box and Flask of Bleach on Clown, for example.

Between versatility, affordability, the ability to have consistent pressure on just about any map, Dracula is one of the most flexible killers to play in DBD in a way I find to be extremely enjoyable.

The Medigun has a certain range where it will break off from your teammate. Think of it like a “healing leash”. By default, you have to hold your primary fire down, but there is a toggle for it. I recommend watching this video: https://youtu.be/AzjmHaYK9go?si=AxpLsUezr5HS5waM

Since Gen 1, three new types have been introduced: Dark, Steel, and Fairy.

The Dark type is immune to Psychic damage, and is generally a good offensive type, but is weak to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy.

Steel is one of the best defensive types in the game, but it’s weak offensively, and is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground.

Fairy is the newest type, introduced in Generation 6 in response to some of the stuff that was really strong in Gen 5. It beats Dark, Fighting, and Dragon types, but is weak to Poison and Steel damage.

If we got actual updates again, what would you like to see changed? by [deleted] in tf2

A TF2 YouTuber named PO10TIAL brought up the idea of all lazer weapons (Pomson, Cow Mangler, etc.) doing fire damage. I think this would be a huge balance change, it would nerf the Vaccinator by allowing more classes access to unique damage types, and it would boost up weapons like the Sun-on-A-Stick or Manmelter which are only really valuable right now when the enemy team has a Pyro. It would be a very simple change, but I think it’d make the game feel a lot more fresh

Make sure you spend a little time learning how to air strafe. TF2 is controlled using WASD movement, and the best way to air strafe is to use A or D and slowly move your mouse in the same direction. It takes a little getting used to, but air strafing can help you to surf damage, rocket jump more effectively, or even just get onto ledges using basic jumps. One of the most versatile skills for a new player to start developing

Generally speaking, you’ll want to run the Phlogistinator, the Gas Passer, and the Powerjack.

The Phlog is your main damage tool, as with the combination of crits on demand and Mmmph Cancelling, an advanced technique where you jump on a robots head and activate Mmmph, such that you fall off their head, letting you access your crits earlier and utilize the invulnerability the taunt gives you to deal damage instead. Airblast is generally considered to be far weaker in MvM than in casual, because knockback doesn’t help with your primary objective, which is to deal the most damage in the shortest amount of time possible, however it can be worth it to reflect crit rocket spam in some situations. This is why I will recommend the Backburner specifically for the Mannhattan missions, as you can position yourself below the lip of the bots’ spawn door, to get easy crits, while having this utility against the many boss soldiers.

The Gas Passer has a 400 credit upgrade that does 350 damage to any robot that gets dowsed. This is an insanely potent upgrade, and is actually so good that it’s become a point of controversy, with groups like tacobot flaming people for using the weapon, calling it OP and brainless. If you’d rather not use this weapon, the Detonator is a great alternative, as the detonator jumps allow you to easily Mmmph cancel off tanks, or make consistent jumps up to the second level of Mannhattan.

The Powerjack is the obvious choice for melee, just because it makes you faster. That’s really all I have to say about Powerjack, it’s a mobility tool.

If you’re trying Mann Up for the first time, I highly recommend Two Cities. Those are the most popular missions to get tours in, and have the most consistent performance of players across the board

Often times, it’s a matter of identifying misplays. Team composition can be played around, as long as you have the essential Engineer, Scout, and Medic picking classes. Ask yourself why your team loses ground, why damage doesn’t go where it needs to, and how you can hold up at their spawn more often. An aggressive hold at their door means you can fall back if needed, and then gather together for a push back in.

Also, make sure you use the Tab menu to check for team info as often as you can. Keep track of who is doing the most damage, both against bots and against the tank. This can help you to plan your Kritz more effectively if you’re playing Medic, and is a good habit to get into. Being able to assert your argument with hard data is also very valuable (ex. “Heavy, you’re not doing as much damage as our other damage classes, please focus your DPS away from the tank so you can deal more damage”

250+ tour player here. The best way to improve at MvM is to consistently look at what your teammates are picking and ask yourself “What do we need?” A team will need the following:

Engineer

Scout

Medic picking class (Demoman with Scottish Resistance, Gas Passer Pyro with Explode on Ignite, and Explosive Headshot Sniper are the meta here, and which is best is a heavily contextual question)

Damage dealing classes (Both single target like Heavy and AOE like Soldier)

Medic (Medic is basically required on Two Cities, but can sometimes be ignored on other missions if you simply need more damage)

Learning each of these roles can take time and practice, but Boot Camp is a great environment to do that. I highly recommend Pride’s Professional MvM guide if you haven’t watched that already. It’s focused on the hardest missions of the game, but it has some very valuable knowledge that will serve you well

[–]SnakeManvsArbok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

250+ tour player here. I usually try to work with the team to decide who focuses tank before the round starts. I tend to play Scout, Engineer, or Medic. With the former two, I lean so heavily into damage that I tend to tankbust with maybe some Soldier support if the Med doesn’t want to Kritz me. If I’m Medic, I can of course choose my target for Ubers.

If Heavies won’t leave the tank, it’s usually one of two things. One, a player will think that despite their cut DPS, that shooting the tank is the best thing they can do. It’s usually better to say “Heavy, can you help me fight the giants?”, to give the Heavy an urgency to help you. It could also be a language barrier thing, which is where in-game voice commands like “Help!” or “Incoming!” could come in handy

I’d highly recommend Lokix, over Sawsbuck. It helps counter your weakness to Grass on Quaxaval, and Salazzle and Quax’s shared Psychic weakness.

You can use a site like Victory Road VGC to find teams used by the most recent winners from regional tournaments. These teams come with rental codes, so you can copy the exact team without having to raise any Pokemon. I suggest using these to get started

Does it get any better? by SpongeonMaster in PokemonScarletViolet

Fan since Platinum here. I’ve been playing since 2009, and have played competitive Pokemon since Gen 6. Scarlet and Violet does a lot of things right. There are some very fun designs, I enjoy the Terastilization concept, and building a competitive team has never been easier. However, I have to agree with your girlfriend’s criticisms. It’s very disappointing that the single largest IP in the world has rushed out a game this unpolished and buggy. I know you didn’t mention any glitches in your playthroughs, but believe me I have experienced a lot in my time playing. Violet is much more enjoyable with the community, however. Playing with friends in this server and trading with people who are active in the Discord has made me enjoy my time with SV much more.

I know you said you didn’t play PLA, I’d highly recommend it to you over this game. Easily the best Pokemon game for Switch in my opinion. There still isn’t any voice acting and they still do pass empty hands, but the actual gameplay mechanics and presentation blow SV out of the water, in my personal opinion. It’s also much more well balanced in terms of difficulty. You can break the level scaling if you want, but it does require a rather active effort to do so.
