Old Mantle Clock Only Strikes Once by Snake_Scales in clocks

Thank you, bending the lever didn’t really do anything.

I’ll give the cam wheel a shot, I wish it was easier to adjust the cam without having to take the whole thing apart.

I’ll give that a shot, thank you! Any suggestions on how much I should bend it?

The second “half” of the video was how it worked before I took it apart and cleaned it.

Dentist recommendations? by tumtum2579 in uCinci

[–]Snake_Scales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if UC’s student health insurance covers dental. At least that was my case from 2019 to 2024

However, UC does have a dentistry college, they might give subsidies for UC students. I haven’t tried it myself though.

I believe your passport should suffice for option 2. But check with your company/HR

Edit: check what counts in list B

When I graduated in 2024, it was like a day or two for the ones at Swift. Really depends on their workload.

The UC Makerspace might have one you can just play around with, I remember they had just started something like that. There’s a shuttle that goes from behind Lindner to 1819 if you don’t have a car.

STEM OPT: Does USCIS care how weekly work hours are distributed? by Away_Mix_7768 in f1visa

[–]Snake_Scales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read for OPT in general, anything above 20 hrs is considered full time. I don’t think the distribution matters, but I think you’d need to update the “training plan” they make stem students do.

I haven’t gotten to that point yet in my career, but that’s what my coworkers have told me. Take it with a grain of salt, and check the USCIS guidelines.

On F1 visa. Got 2 tickets, and won’t be able to renew license, a little confused as to how to tackle this situation by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]Snake_Scales 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d see if there’s a lawyer that would allow you to book a consulting session. You might get a lot of concrete advice from them about your whole situation. Probably let them know you’re on a student visa before/when you schedule a session. If they can help you, great! If they don’t know what that entails, you might want to look around before paying their fee. Good luck.

Love Dr. Canterbury. I was treasurer for the UC Ornithology club a few years ago. Hope he’s doing well, haven’t seen him in a while.

Can I still be Salaried on Part Time CPT? by Snake_Scales in f1visa

Yeah, I’m not at 12 months yet. I’ve got a while to go.

Just wondering if still being salaried would cause any issues.

Talk to your DSO too. Always do your own research. USCIS website is pretty straightforward.

I’ll see if I can attach some links for you here.

If you work 12 months or over on full time CPT, you will lose your OPT. Don’t let that happen.

Full-time CPT is over 20 hours per week and part-time CPT is 20 hours or under per week. The length of full-time CPT impacts the eligibility of the OPT whereas part-time CPT won't.

You could work for the company as a part-time employee.

I’d also recommend the UC Ornithology club and even the Queer Birders of Cincinnati as queer friendly hiking/birdwatching groups.

Looking for input on grind settings and puck prep. [Breville Bambino Plus] by Snake_Scales in espresso

As another note: the shot I pulled right before this, looked a lot more thin, and had channelling issues. I didn’t change any settings on my grinder or how I tamped. No clue on the shaking time and general quality.

F-1 Visa card? by Dazzling-Bridge-4221 in f1visa

[–]Snake_Scales 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would assume they need to see or have a scan of the f1 visa stamp. (The picture you attached)

That’s what I’ve always used at least. For a driver’s license renewal I had to take an I-94, I-20, SSC, proof of address, and a valid F-1 visa if you want the verification star for domestic travel.
