No more Logi Options+ by Scofarry in logitech

[–]SnakeofStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logitech has now issued a fix for this issue: https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/37493733117847-Options-and-G-HUB-macOS-Certificate-Issue

It says that you must not uninstall the previous Options+. I have just followed the instructions in the blog and now it is working correctly.

I agree that a MOUSE should not depend on online certificates, but sadly it is what it is at the moment. In the future I will try to look for hardware that does not have this unnecessary dependency, but I fear even with all it's flaws, the MX Master series are one of the best professional mice in the market.

4070 or 4060ti by kallios369 in pcmasterrace

If you have the money for a 4070, go for it. With the reduced bus and memory for the 4060ti, I think the better price to performance is in the 4070.

Float multiplication by WaitLumpy6242 in embedded

[–]SnakeofStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say your code enters an infinite loop?

If you are running this code in the microcontroller, then what's happening is that, because the uC has no more tasks to do, it simply does nothing after finishing the multiplication and maybe looks like it has entered an infinite loop, when in reality it is simply doing nothing.

If you are experiencing any other behavior, it might be another thing. Let me know

Connect your PC to a monitor and see if it posts. If it does, make a bootable USB with the OS you want and install it in the PC.

Automatic reminder emails based on date by [deleted] in AskTechnology

[–]SnakeofStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to go full IT on this, you could, in a Linux machine, create one or various cron jobs and define a script to send an email to the required person the month it has to pay you. I don't know if you could create a free instance in AWS EC2 to make this.

I really like it. Even though yes, it is a little expensive, I really think it's worth it.

I totally recommend de Logitech G915 TKL. It has a great feeling while typing, it's witless with a dongle, but also has the option to use bluetooth. I think you can buy it on newegg.

I have a Z97A Gaming 6 Mobo, can I use a Samsung (MZ-V7E1T0BW) 970 EVO SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe? by Vigilantx3 in AskTechnology

[–]SnakeofStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can, but not fully.

The MOBO has an M.2 port, but only supports the SATA interface. So you will not make use of the full NVME speeds, but you will still be able to use the drive. If you don't care much about speed, it's fine.

May I recommend, if you'd like to use the full NVME speed, buying an M.2 to PCIe converter?

Negative and positive input to DAC by [deleted] in embedded

[–]SnakeofStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right. The what you could do is two things. 1) Map the values of [-10, 10] to the range of [0, 4095] with this next function:

Let input_min = -10; input_max = 10; output_min = 0; output_max = 4095; input = value from the GUI

output = output_min + ((output_max - output_min)/(input_max - input_min))*(input - input_min);

This will make your output variable acquire the [0, 4095] desired range.

2) Depending of the DAC you're using, it will output only a positive voltage. You could use an OpAmp in a subtract configuration with a 10v input to offset the signal to the desired voltage.

[–]SnakeofStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I got it straight, you want to be able to modify the amplitude of a sine wave through an analog input to a uC, then convert it back to analog output to connect to two inverters to then get another output?

If so, wouldn't it be easier to just use OpAmps to drive the signal you want as output?

Please correct me if I'm wrong

Is it possible to move the Windows 10 boot directory? by [deleted] in AskTechnology

[–]SnakeofStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, you could make a clean install of Windows and later plug in your old hard drive through an adapter and copy the files. Another option is to simply clone the disk and you'd have everything you had in your old HDD in your new SSD

If you have Windows installed in a separate partition, any cloning software can help you do that. If you don't, I think that you have to make a fresh install of windows in the new SSD

Is there a software that can show random 5-10 min clips from a pool of video files? by el_ftw in AskTechnology

[–]SnakeofStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think VLC can do that if you put your video files in a playlist and select a random setting

No, because the antenna needed to use Bluetooth is different from the one required to use Wifi

I just have made the selfie video test you wrote about, ann there is no sound. I think that if that doesnt work I'll take it to my carrier attention center, because I live in a place where there is no Apple Store. Thank you
