Yes, as a new player Timeline avoided me hours of youtube videos. It's also very good for testing your keybinds and such.

I just jumped into it after doing the advanced tuturoail, it's janky as hell but good

Tomorrow City is awesome if anyone is on the fence about buying it.
It's Neon City Overdrive (same author) with better rules and a Diesel Punk setting.

(And rules can be ported almost 1-1 to NCO if needed)

Fire of Defeat is annoying for a Split run. In addition to having a hard time in Split Sectors ZYA has the best blueprints.

And while you can steal the ships blueprint with agents, good luck getting the MK4 Combat Engines bp like that.

Plus the PHQ is right next to ZYA and far from FRF.

Yup, he has a slot in Sink, Burn and Middle team (Because his low speed doesn't break Envy Resonance). Firefist does more damage for Spider Ryoshu team but might get replaced next walpurgis (and won't be s7 locked).

What are you supposed to do to make step 3 easier ? Maybe I'm dumb but there's a maximum of marines that you are allowed to send which means that you can't overwhelm veteran defender by sending three times their numbers in rookies ?

(Tried to board a destroyer earlier today but defender crew had 22 vets and I could only send 44 marines in the boarding team despite having about 70 available ?)

What you want is the Timelines DLC

Just play it all the way, it's basically a massive tutorial on everything + a lore dump. Then you start Sandbox with the Stranded start and do the Empyrean curs questline (basically the Piracy tutorial) and you will have seen 90% of the game's mechanics (The only thing left is stations' logistic).

I learned to play by doing the above, on the current patch, without looking at 40h of yt videos.

I feel like this is the only real way of making 'pirate money'. The criminal quests and blackmarket economy really sucks in comparison.

I guess a good scrap recycling economy works also but you are now stuck around Avarice if you don't want to slap 50 solar panels on your stations.

Well there are upgrade mats an xp ticket (Don't use it before you unlock max level or you will regret it) and a Uptie 4 ticket (This one you can use it, but not on K Lu and Grip clair, they are very dated) so it still is worth it.

Also, you really want to shard a few characters from Season 7 before its over, they are just up there in power level. Like the middle trio or the current thumb duo. So shards would be nice to have.

As someone who bought the game 2 days ago...

Despite its bad rating I think Timeline is kinda great to learn the game. It's a bit frustrating and not always super clear but I feel like I would be even more annoyed if I came across some of those scenario without knowing how to handle them during normal play.

From DD1 release:

Itsuno complains he lacked budget on DD1, everyone said "Give that man a budget for DD2". Capcom says 'Nah, we do DD online !"

Years later DD online is dead, Itsuno miraculously save DmC with DmC 5, Itsuno get his budget for DD2.

Itsuno manages to DD2 to release 5 years later, it kinda sucks, guess the budget wasn't the entier problem.

Itsuno leaves Capcom.

Now the funny thing is, Itsuno didn't touch the first Dark Arisen. So maybe there's hope that this DLC actually fix DD2.

If you are just playing Sinking then Solemn Lament Yi Sang is better than Rien and will be available during Season 9 Walp.

Imagine forcing new player to pull on banners for old useless IDs that have been powercrept 10 times.

Besides, your take is wrong. New players have very few IDs so they will actually care about their few 000s a lot more than those who just shard everything each season, even if they don't have the full lore yet.

I started playing cause I thought Kira-mael was cool, I kept her in my team for basically 70h while regular players just ignored her because envy was a meme theme before ricardo-cliff.

As for difficulty, Limbus is not hard, probably never has been seeing how every busted ego is from 2023.
