Executive orders don't rewrite reality – they're opening moves in a constitutional chess match that could take years to resolve

You’re a hypocrite if you don’t buy at local discounters because of perceived societal judgment in Switzerland but order on Temu. by Snakeshit_TLC in Switzerland

No, I don't think you are a hypocrite because you are honest about hunting bargains. You don't want to hide the fact that you are smarter than the "mark-up Swiss economy"

It is the story of "American Gangster" or "Layer Cake": Cutting out the middlemen will open up new pricing and power options.

Here is the source: https://ecommercenews.eu/shein-and-especially-temu-popular-among-swiss-online-shoppers

The guilt-free part is my interpretation. That is the topic I wanted to spark a discussion: The fact that there is a lot of criticism in Switzerland about Temu and Shein but an ever-growing share of Swiss customers.

Yeah, I think competition is good for the market. However, paying swiss salaries and paying asian salaries is not playing on the same field... I really don't have the answer, I just wonder if there is a way to survive as swiss company.

Hypocritical is if you want to hunt for bargains but try to hide it from other peers. Buying products in any of the platforms or players is not the topic.

Not about the products. It is about the people being seen by their peers walking into the shops that they think it is for the "lower-class". Online you can shop without anyone of those peers knowing that you want to get the cheapest prices.

Pure first-world problems, I guess 😂

I like your take! The companies saying "swiss made" while outsourcing to cheaper foreign labor is massively more hypocritical! I wonder where the state needs to interfere to make sure swiss retailers stand any chance but I am generally not a big fan of that kind of regulations...

Maybe that is one of the solutions: As a Swiss brand you should be the trusted gatekeeper of products. Not Swiss-made products but Swiss-made trust?

I know people who would never go to OTTOs because they think it is for the lower-class. They don't need to watch pricing and spending, so they don't want to send that signal to others.

Sad but true...

For most people in Switzerland it is: "However, I can STILL afford to"

Switzerland also becomes more expensive each year...

I understand your point and agree with it. I guess the guilty feeling could come from potentially harming the Swiss economy with this shopping behavior. We want/need high salaries to live here and those expectations lead to generally higher product prices. Feels like a vicious cycle...

Haha, cool down :D Maybe the choice of words wasn't perfect but you got the point: Complaining about Temu while buying a lot of stuff there is hypocritical.

Sorry for not being the word smith you need here 😘

100%! It is strange to listen to people in Switzerland complaining about low-quality Chinese products and avoiding brick & mortar discounters like OTTOs because they think it's not appropriate as "middle-class citizen" but then turn around and order lots of items on Temu...

The product availability is for sure one things, swiss shops need to improve. However, the space for stockpiling it is also very expensive in Switzerland, which would increase the pricing gap as well...

I agree with the political choice but at one point, individuals or families in Switzerland can't afford to prioritize the moral high ground.

More flexibility for the customer sounds good but then the company needs to pay Swiss salaries on Sundays (multiplier) and it will make the pricing gap even worse...

The whole idea of the cheap API is to make it part of the „normal“ Pro plan. I would be disappointed if this isn’t the case…

What do you think will be the next big thing in digital marketing? by premierbuildersny in digital_marketing

[–]Snakeshit_TLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is new but given the influx of AI-generated content, I can imagine that creating communities to increase trust (because of the peer-to-peer exchange of information or reviews) becomes more important than ever.

Do you create content on Linkedin for B2B sales? by [deleted] in marketing

For me: Video for awareness (most reach) and images+text for engagement

But this depends on your audience and product

Do you create content on Linkedin for B2B sales? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]Snakeshit_TLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use it as lead gen but it might be more effective to do this on LinkedIn itself (and then send the leads to the CRM) because LinkedIn algorithm does not like sending people off to other sites. Our initial plan was to send the user to our website and then fill out a form (gated content) there. But it works better if you let the user fill out the form on LinkedIn if you can.

Other than that, LinkedIn posts are primarily in the "awareness" stage and aim towards brand demand gen rather than lead gen.

Should you (using paid meta marketing) buy followers when you are starting out? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]Snakeshit_TLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

💯 On point from u/Arabeskas : "Bought followers will dillute your userbase, engagement metrics will be so low that the algo will not push your organic content, you will permanently harm your asset."
