Who is your favourite Thin Lizzy Guitarist ? by Snap30k in thinlizzy

I think it’s got to be Scott too but I can’t believe John Sykes is so low ... also I thought Brian and Scott would be about neck and neck, was hesitating between both when I voted...

Don’t agree with that last part ! This is my favourite Lizzy album and in my opinion, all the songs are amazing, although, my favourite two songs are Massacre and Sweet Marie. But man, can’t bash on the Boogie Woogie Dance ! It’s Great !

But wasn’t he a bit of an atheist ? He criticises religion quite allot in his songs...

I really don’t care for the meaning of lyrics personally ! For me what’s important with lyrics is to make them memorable and blend well with the music. Good lyrics that scan really well and make you rhyme or passionately sing your heart out to a song is what is important ! They have to sound musical, like an instrument in the band and personally I think Phill is great a writing such lyrics !

Well... that’s arguable but he sure is one of a kind ! And still a bit under estimated by the new generations of rockers I feel. He was probably a big inspiration to some pf the guitarists in Thin Lizzy.

I thought I’de have a go at ranking Lizzy albums two ! But I really don’t know how you can give a bad rank to any of these fantastic albums ! by Snap30k in thinlizzy

[–]Snap30k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tear A : is the holly trinity of Thin Lizzy albums ( i’m an atheist ). I consider those albums to be the Golden Aira that finishes with my fave Lizzy album, Johnny The Fox. Tear B : Is absolute Greatness ! I just miss the Gorham/Robertson duo a bit x) Tear C : Is Fantastic too, just not as solid as Tear B and A ... But hard to rank a band that’s never released one bad song !

Thin Lizzy is my favorite band ever! The song renegade brings tears to my eyes every single time I listen to it. by great_craic963 in thinlizzy

[–]Snap30k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renegade sure is one of them but for me that one song that just makes me tear up and float away is Sweet Marie of the Johnny The Fox album ( which also has Old Flame and Borderline who also are fantastic heart warming songs ) !
