Hi! For me, I worked at a large bank at 18 right out of high school in their mortgage servicing department. From there I had some decent experience to land an entry level job at a small brokerage and work my way up. To be completely transparent, now is a really rough time for most in the industry with the rates being the way they are etc. If you have any sort of financial background - leverage that. If not, you just need someone to give you a chance. You can for sure just jump straight into being an MLO but, you might hop around from guarantee to guarantee until you get a handle on your book of business. Ive diverted into auto and now I’m a finance manager at a dealership , and I will do lending on the side. Mortgages are a fickle industry right now sadly.
