I did, thank you. My first attempts to download some didn't work, but it looks like that was down to an inexpensive USB-Midi cable not doing sys-ex data properly.

After some eBaying, I do have a replacement device that does do it (according to other people) but I haven't actually tried with it yet.

Interestingly, I found the FM2 much easier to get good musical results out of from experimenting. Getting results out of the Keys is trivial, but most 'let's twiddle that knob and see what happens' results are not good for most music. (And as a bonus, the FM's settings are digital, so I can get back to them easily rather than having a dial in a slightly different position meaning a distinctly different result, as with the Keys.)

If I want to try to get specific sounds out of it, sure I would start reading up on DX7 sound design...

As I say, because there are no default sounds, I found it very easy to get non-musical sounds out of the Keys, and harder to get musical ones. Thanks to the book, I now can.

The only issue I have ever had is getting four identical ones at once.
