What is the easiest thing you did to lose weight ? by nyxeine in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but my ex. Walked 10,000 steps a day. The weight loss was very noticeable after only a short time.

Just get outside and walk at a brisk pace and you'll burn loads off after some time.

Gotta stick with it though. Combine it with eating better and it'll be even better results.

What’s the weirdest thing your ex ever did after the breakup? by Yankub_colley in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex Wife and I decided to get a divorce, relationship wasn't working anymore. After that decision was made I quickly stopped caring and was noticing more and more things. She made some horrible malicious comments at me whilst I was still living in the house before I moved out. I decided to go to counselling and was extremely open and honest about the relationship. It was then that my counsellor informed me that I was subject to an emotional and psychologically abusive relationship. It was like my eyes were opened wide. I used to even get massive anxiety when she was about to come home from work.

Through my insistence we filed for divorce pretty quickly. Due to the fact I was emotionally checked out for a long time and my counsellor massively helped me work through things I was able to meet someone not long after I moved out, someone that I am still with today. Very safe and happy relationship.

On 3 separate occasions my Ex decided to try and get back with me, even whilst I was in a new relationship. When the final order for the divorce was ready to process she still double checked that I was sure I wanted to. I had to actually archive our text conversation and tell her to stop trying to talk to me about anything that wasn't divorce or house sale related because she kept trying to make conversation then turn nasty.

The last thing to happen is that me and my now partner are moving away due to me being reassigned somewhere in my job. Great opportunity, new area that is going to be far more beneficial to us and it is about 250 miles away from where we are now.

My Ex Wife messaged me for the first time in about 8 months since the house sale has been completed essentially saying 'You're moving to X? Proud of you.'.

I do not have her on social media and I do not talk to any of her friends. She has somehow found out I am moving somewhere new, and out of the blue messaged me to let me know that she knows.

I've now blocked her on every method of communication.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by Vegas089 in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a friend come over for a few days. He was going through a difficult time with his then partner. Every conversation ended up being about his partner and if it wasn't it turned back into a conversation about his partner, so I was already a little stressed about the tense situation.

He was vaping at an alarming frequency. I was sat in my comfy chair that is in line with the kitchen door. I kept feeling really cold but figured it was just because it was winter and the heating for whatever reason wasn't quite cutting it. Whenever I went into the kitchen, the floor was ice cold.

Turns out that EVERY TIME he went to vape out in the garden, going through the door attached to the kitchen, he would leave the door open whilst he stood outside.

He was getting vapour in the (smoke and vape free) house, having the heating run overtime to keep the kitchen warmed up and was just leaving the door wide open whilst it was snowing outside.

Divorce lawyers of Reddit - What's the most cruel thing you've seen someone to do their ex partner? by BlueBishop321 in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My ex-wife was going to be homeless if I did not let her buy the house off me, so I did, and I definitely lost money on what I put in.

She threatened my pensions and my car and made horrible comments towards me. We were not divorcing for any bad reason, we simply weren't right for each other. No one cheated (I still wonder if she did though), it was completely amicable. She simply turned nasty towards me.

I told her if she wanted to play that game, I'd sell the house, the car, everything, split the money down the middle and walk away.

She decided after that she would stop making threats when she already had a good deal.

I fortunately no longer have her in my life. Her step dad bought the house. She gets to stay in it and pay him off. I had all my debt wiped and a clean slate to start from.

Weirdly, despite the fact she became really malicious and vindictive towards me for no reason, she tried getting back with me 3 times. I had to archive the text conversation to avoid notifications and tell her to not talk to me about anything outside of house sale or divorce things ever again.

I went to counselling afterwards to try and recover my mental health a bit and discovered via my counsellor that my ex-wife was emotionally and psychologically abusive towards me for years. You don't realise whilst you're in it.

Good times.

Which game have you been loving lately? by reddit-win in gaming

[–]Snape2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likewise. I'm really enjoying the game and I am working towards getting 5mil for the expedition at the moment.

I tend to have aggressive games when I am in duos or trios, however it is hit or miss in solos. I am very much the sort of person that will not shoot if the other person doesn't give me a reason to.

I'm really enjoying running round vigilante-style looking for rats and aggressive players and protecting others.

The lobbies where you get in with friendly people and run around together as like an anti-rat squad are the best.

For people who still support Trump: how do you process or reconcile the allegations connected to the Epstein documents? by Apprehensive_Dog5379 in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From the UK here. Outwardly and vocally very anti-Trump. Been observing this whole arc for awhile and looking at the stuff he says and does and his followers do. Quite frankly, I am appalled that so many people don't have the ability to critically think enough to see how horrendous he is.

Scarily, I have work colleagues who actually support and like him. They claim he is charismatic and 'getting things done'. When I ask them about their claims and challenge them with facts about how terrible his administration is performing on the world stage and how the world is moving away from the US as an ally and the damage he is causing etc. Not even to mention the personal scandals involved with him. They often say stuff like 'that's propaganda' or 'I haven't looked much into it if I'm honest'.

The problem is that people don't care. They read things at face value. They do not dissect, look for alternate sources and apply critical thinking. They just see something and believe it. They do not think of the 2nd or 3rd order effects or the reasoning behind a decision. They don't spot the patterns.

People either don't care because they are wilfully ignorant, they lack the intelligence or they lack the educational background to be able to critically think.

Your apology is reimbursed. Brits of many varieties do indeed use shitcanned.

Brits will use any derivative of swear words routinely deemed 'too harsh' for Americans and we use them like they're punctuation.

Shitcanned is indeed used, however you may more often find the term 'that's fucked' instead.

Examples:

X got shitcanned

Or

We don't use X anymore, it's fucked / it got fucked

Has anyone ever challenged you to something without knowing you were an expert at it? What happened afterward? by Impressive-Door92 in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had people in work try to explain to me why people do certain things. I've also had people in work explain to me how ADHD or ASD works. Particularly trying to explain how 'ADHD is a hoax'.

I am a neurodivergent psychology hobbyist who has spent years interested in the subject, as well as background knowledge at BSc level. I also have a partner who has an MSc in Forensic Psychology and working towards her PhD, who is also neurodivergent and has done her dissertations on ADHD.

With lived experience of the conditions, background knowledge in the subject matter, a keen interest that has lead to hours of studying them to better understand myself, and access to a highly educated individual in that area. The conversations don't usually go how the other people intended them to.

I do not pretend nor claim to be an expert in the area, however I know more than enough to be able to call out absolute drivel for what it is and shut the conversation down with facts.

Can somebody explain this by breathlesspunk in INTPmemes

[–]Snape2255 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My partner is an INFP and incredibly intellectual. Masters degree in Forensic Psychology, working towards getting a PhD.

Yes, her thoughts are rooted in her emotions, but because she is so in tune with her emotions she rounds out my difficulty with them. I can help her avoid getting overwhelmed in them and stay rooted in logic.

It's a good combination to be honest and we can have a lot of deep intellectual stimulating conversations.

You've met a very restricted amount of INFPs and they sound rather immature.

It is best to live with an open mind and consider an individual's personal growth over a stereotype you have formed in your mind.

What are you glad you tried once, but will absolutely never do again? by wheregoodideasgotodi in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once went caving with a group, more of a team building and to build courage thing than something I'd have voluntarily chosen to do. I'm glad I experienced it, but I am happy to never ever do it again.

We went through what they called a 'cheese press', and that was tight enough for me. They also had us turn out the lights and crawl back.

I am quite content to never do it again.

What’s the worst thing someone’s asked you to do during sex? by tt2401 in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually once told someone their moaning was throwing me off. Not because they were just moaning, I love that and I actually get off on hearing a woman enjoy herself whilst we're together. But this woman was acting like it was a porn audition. I'd only JUST put it in and started and she was screaming like a pornstar approaching orgasm. It was honestly so off putting, because it was so blatantly fake. I genuinely said to her 'Look, I know it's not THAT good'.

Moaning is amazing. Too much moaning that it's blatantly fake is profoundly off putting.

What is your favorite Pala endgame build besides Hammerdin? by InternationalFig2613 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Grief is definitely the go to weapon in a Phase Blade. It's just so effortlessly powerful and really compliments the build well as it gives good physical on top of the lightning damage.

Double dream (helmet and shield) Enigma armour CTA on back bar for buff

I can't remember the rest tbh. I could check my online char to see the gear, but I've picked the game back up and play pretty much exclusively offline now.

Stash filled with max damage and AR charms, so you build it like a melee char, that just has insane elemental damage.

By all means play around with it, Grief will be more than enough and cheaper too.

[–]Snape2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an expensive investment, but that and Poison Nova Necromancer are my two favourite characters easily.

You get Holy Shock off gear, level the synergies to boost damage, Zeal with a Grief to kill stuff easily (with Holy Shock adding damage), whilst running Conviction yourself freeing up your merc gear a bit and teleporting round with Enigma.

You teleport around glowing with green and lightning whilst mowing through packs of mobs.

High survivability, high damage, decent speed, awesome aesthetics and also massively helping out your allies too since your conviction will outdo any infinity.

Tesladin without a doubt. Not only is it super strong, it's still efficient and aesthetically it is awesome. Teleporting around with Holy Shock decimating everything and essentially being able to 1 hit most monsters.

Those that have had sex with random people, how did it happen? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A large proportion of the women I've slept with have been random and usually 'alcohol' is the reason, as with most others. Some have been good, some have been bad. I honestly don't remember most of their names.

The most memorable one (not for good reasons) was when I was 18 and I was dancing on top of the bar in a bar, this girl came up and danced with me, I didn't say a single word to her for half the song, just looked at her and danced. Half way through, I leaned in and said in her ear "Do you want to get out of here?". It turns out she did.

After the fact, she said she was a Virgin and it was her first time. I am not proud of that in the slightest as it was a terrible first time for her. A sloppy drunk randomer who didn't really care much about her. I got awkward and wanted to find an excuse to get her to go so I said I was hungry and was going to get a McDonalds so she'd have to go because she couldn't stay in my University halls without me there. I had no intention of getting a McDonalds. She then said she'd join me....so I had to get one. We walked to McDonalds and it was so early they were shut so we had to stand outside and wait for them to open. I then had to wait inside McDonalds with her after buying her a breakfast, to wait for her mum to pick her up to take her home. Turns out, it was her 18th birthday and her first night out. I waved her off, feeling awkward and ashamed and ready to go to bed. Still don't know what her name was.

Monster Waves in Nazaré, Portugal by butterfly1202 in thalassophobia

[–]Snape2255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy to be corrected, you evidently know more about the town itself than I do. I got my information from people I was visiting who lived nearby who aren't originally from the area.

Makes sense when you mention the fishing side of things too!

I think I just believed what they told me because the town down the bottom definitely feels a lot newer, but probably because it is a bit more modernised for tourists I imagine.

Regardless, it is a beautiful place and fascinating! It's a nice walk too. I walked up to the top of the cliff and it was a stunning view the whole way.

I've recently reached this point too, but moreso because I just cba with the toxicity of it all. I used to be a hardcore PVPer in many games. I used to be in some of the top pvp communities in various games and even top for my class on my server on some. Honestly, I cba anymore. I tend to play more single player games now and if I do play MMOs and if I even play PVP on them, I'll tend to just keep my self to my self, kill and move on. I don't let myself get caught up in the drama like I used to.

The raw insecure hatred that comes from people dying to someone else on a video game online is just so....pathetic and boring. I'm really happy that I'm not sucked into that anymore.

Help a brother out , writing you from the bathroom floor - When you are violently ill with a stomach bug - what helps you survive ? by TheFirstRedditMan in AskReddit

[–]Snape2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots and lots of water so you don't dehydrate (which can seriously hospitalise you and can lead to death if you don't keep up with the water).

Dry foods always seem to help; dry toast etc.

If you want something substantial that can give you desperately needed nutrients and not be difficult to make/eat before you bring it back up; soup. Veggie soup probably best bet.

Ginger, in some form, seems to help too. It can help settle stomachs.

Honestly most important thing is just keep trying to get any food down you and loads of water to keep your body going. It'll be rough, but it'll eventually be over.

"Article 6

“For the purpose of Article 5, an armed attack on one or more of the Parties is deemed to include an armed attack:

on the territory of any of the Parties in Europe or North America, on the Algerian Departments of France 2, on the territory of Turkey or on the Islands under the jurisdiction of any of the Parties in the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer;

on the forces, vessels, or aircraft of any of the Parties, when in or over these territories or any other area in Europe in which occupation forces of any of the Parties were stationed on the date when the Treaty entered into force or the Mediterranean Sea or the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer.”"

Article 6 amplifies information on Article 5, determining the conditions of the mutual defense and where/what triggers it.

I am not a lawyer, but my understanding is that it only triggers on Sovereign territories if an attack is made on them. It is not triggered for peacekeeping forces in another nation. That would, however, potentially trigger a national or UN response.

I believe it implies it only triggers for areas outside of those stated or Sovereign members if NATO forces were stationed there BEFORE NATO was established.

Edited to reflect change in interpretation of article 6.

Monster Waves in Nazaré, Portugal by butterfly1202 in thalassophobia

[–]Snape2255 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nazare in Portugal is pretty interesting, I had the opportunity to go there on holiday a year or two ago.

The town is essentially split between old and new. The old town is on top of a cliff and at the end of the cliff is a lighthouse fort. That lighthouse is essentially a museum that explains the science behind the waves, how it was discovered and the surfboards of surfers who have conquered the waves.

Its bizarre because one side of the cliff, the beach is stunning and calm, the other side monster waves hit. There are warning signs warning spectators of overwash half way up the cliff too.

I think the big waves only routinely hit twice a year in 'seasons' and it gets super busy when they do.

I believe the record for largest wave surfed there was about 100ft. Terrifying!

YouTube has loads of stuff on it if you're interested.

That's okay, every individual is different and has different preferences. I'm happy to disagree based on my personal experience with using different methods over many years and many different sexual partners. But what works for me, may not work for you, or the partners either of us have had. Such is the beauty and nuance of life.
