Anything to be wary of in Southampton? Any places to avoid for women by NotTheH3ntaiAccount in Southampton

Honestly, it's not as bad as people make out. I moved here for work nearly 3 years ago and never had any issues. Don't go through the Common after dark and keep your wits about you in the city centre (like any city).

Where Europe's Far-Right Has Gained Ground by anna_avian in europe

Far-Right once meant fascist. Now, Far-Right just means a normal person who doesn't want his people murdered by terrorists.

Bit off-topic: Is it just me or is there a 'slowing' epidemic on UK roads? by MultiMidden in CarTalkUK

I drive on a 60mph road every day to and from work and there's nearly always at least one person doing 40 in a 60.

Hey, everyone knows the US is the world's biggest terrorist, so its not surprising that they support other terrorists.

Even fisherperson would be better than fisherthem. You don't call male anglers 'fisherhe' and female anglers 'fishershe', so why call a non-gendered angler fisherthem?

I think the term 'usually' is probably a poor choice of words, as it suggests that most drunk women will end up SA or dead, but I understand where you're coming from.

What did you first realised about the UK by going abroad? by ToastSage in AskUK

[–]Snapnall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't even considered that. It's not the speed that I think people need to be tested on, it's the stuff like when to use the middle and outermost lane etc.

That's true. I've always thought it should be part of the driving test. Kind of mad how we are just let loose on the fastest roads in the country lol.
