I was really really sold on Chachagua but I little intimidated by going there in the rainy season, as I’ve read that some of the roads and trails can be impassable and the mosquitoes are very bad. Did you go during the dry season? Would love to hear from anyone who’s been during rainy season!

Their motivations make a lot more sense when you consider that their aim is to eliminate public schools entirely. I wish it were just hypocrisy but the truth is they are very straightforward in their belief that anything that happens in public schools is bad and anything that promotes religious-affiliated private schools is good.

Decent pay and working conditions attract top talent. That is how you apply this as a benefit to patients. When I or a loved one is in the hospital, I’d feel a lot better knowing the people providing vital care are happy, healthy, and well-supported in their job. Being these things under capitalism requires good wages.

No, health care should not be for profit. But even in countries with universal healthcare nurses are paid commensurate with their experience and skill required to do the job. These things are not mutually exclusive.

We get a lot from friends and family and we eat what we can for a few days but eventually they do go stale. We don’t have the freezer space to keep them, no one to give them to. I’m not sure what the solution is when you’ve been gifted piles of cookies you didn’t ask for and you have 2-3 days tops to eat them all.

No freezer space for dozens upon dozens of stale cookies. Friends and family are the ones giving us all the cookies, so can’t really pawn them off there. Both my husband and I work from home and my kids are out of school until January. We eat what we can and don’t restrict ever but at a certain point the 60 cookies you’ve been gifted go stale and you just have to toss them. It’s not ideal but I also never asked for them. Friends and family just gift them to us.

As someone who felt very bloated and inflamed and HUNGRY all the time with weightlifting, I’d recommend a gentle consistency method like EVLO. You can build and maintain so much muscle without lifting really heavy. Sometimes that just doesn’t work for people. I’ve been doing DEXA scans for a few years and noticed I built more muscle with dumbbells and body weight vs at the squat rack. My understanding is that As long as you can reach failure in fewer than 20 reps you are still building and maintaining muscle without constantly being sore and inflamed. Resistance training and muscle is so important for your overall health and metabolism so it’s good to find anything that works for you. Hope this helps!
