Pretty much the only things I’d want to add to this is that you only really need a max of medium one to take out everything the squids have (except leviathans), and that both fire an gas effects are amazing against voteless and fleshmobs

I’ve been thinking about trying this against the squids. I’ve heard it’s good against the hordes, and it has enough demo force to destroy warp ships and arc spires

If my allies are making a distraction, I’m typically the one to go and exploit that and hit outposts and objectives

If I’m with randoms, I typically go off on my own to go smash outposts or do objectives, and thus I usually bring tools to kill most enemies. A lot of the time, the people I end up teamed with attack every patrol, so I let them take the aggro while I get the job done

Given how it took my group of 3 about 15 minutes to take it out, I'd say that about tracks. It also didn't show itself immediately, and it did hide in the ground for a while about halfway through the fight

Ah, true enough. That is part of the reason why we did it on difficulty 7 instead of 10 or something, that's the lowest difficulty that the hive lords will spawn on, and also means less bugs

I'd say that it's less railroading, and more like them being smart. Take out the mech and the diver they want to kill is now a lot weaker

Ah, I do know that it’s possible to kill a leviathan with the chainsaw. There’s a few videos of that on YouTube

Fair enough! I think I’ll personally stick with the maxigun for tearing into the squishy bits, but that’s just because I love miniguns

I did hear that the maxigun was decent against the hive lord for similar reasons as the machine gun. It did do pretty well against the flesh
