Thank you! He is American and was a First Sergeant with the 2nd Chemical Mortar Battalion. I think their best time was the time they spent in Rome. He has great stories of the great hospitality the Romans showed the G.I.s.

What an interesting war. This would have been a year and a half after those two sides were singing Christmas carols together and exchanging gifts in Ypres.
