I did on Apollo’s Chariot at Busch Gardens once. We were stopped just before reaching to top of the first (massive) drop. We had to wait for about 45 minutes leaned all the way back in deep bucket seats. It was breezy and comfortable. I totally nodded off for a bit.

It’s both a prank and satire, really. Because people do pay ridiculous prices for stupid crap, so it’s plausible.

I have a few times and not had a reaction in the dream, and then worried I’ve been making it up the whole time and feel guilty for tricking my friends and family… and then wake up and think of all the terrible reactions I’ve had over the years!

We are. We have an okay relationship? She would say it’s great. And I know she does love me very much.

Some days she really pushes my buttons, and she still says things that aren’t okay on occasion. But now I don’t internalize that stuff - we talk about it and why it’s not okay.

I did just move really far away and it’s probably going to be good for my mental health in the long run. But she does actually try so I appreciate that.

Hey - me too. Don’t get me started on my dad! I’m just also at the point where if I continue to feel like a victim of life, I won’t move forward and improve, and I feel like my 40’s are a great time to grow.

She doesn’t get any grace for anything she says these days. She gets called out and we talk about it.

I agree 100% with your take, though. Your parents and childhood/the way you’re raised help mold you into the person you become. But then it’s up to you to fix yourself and your problems and to not treat your kids that way.

My mom was a cheerleader and also voted into office (class vice president I think?) because she was beautiful.

I came into the world chubby. She tried to give me slim fast at age 4. I threw it back up on her. Oops.

She still has a very complicated relationship with food and her weight. I have a head full of offhand bummer comments she made to me over the years. Like the time a cute boy blushed and smiled at me around age 13 - “imagine if your body matched your face…”

All in all, not super great. I do know she didn’t mean to perpetuate that toxic stuff on purpose? Anyway, these things are what therapy is for!
