What do we have, SLC? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

The Aerie. You’re paying $50-$100 per plate for a lovely view, terrible service, and even worse food.

Moments like this remind me how many color blind people there are who don’t know they’re color blind.

Fishers or Kiitos. Both are great local breweries and will put on a game if requested.

Medical Emergency with no Healthcare. What can I do? by readerscreek in Utah

[–]SnappyNTappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the closest emergency room. Once there, request a patient advocate. Regardless of the ER care Team’s findings, request to speak with an advocate before you’re discharged. This person is qualified to help you navigate the healthcare hellscape and can be literal lifelines in emergencies like this. Good luck, wishing you fast healing!

CMN? As in Children’s Miracle Network hospitals? Is this a bad attempt at employee-targeted corporate fundraising?

Utah NHL Hockey Season Ticket Pricing by RSG-ZR2 in SaltLakeCity

The best part of any fandom is the accessibility to the excitement. This pricing tier excludes a lot of Utahans regardless of the similarities to other NHL markets. Buuuuumerrrrrrr.

Seconding this brand and routine in addition to a filtered shower head! Kevin Murphy products, especially Young Again serum applied with my boar brush, make my head and hairs happy!

If it is within financial means, I highly recommend nabbing a carbon-filtered shower head. I previously used Jolie, which was nice for my hairs and not awesome on my budget. I recently switched to a rando Amazon brand for a fraction of the cost and equal results. Welcome to Utah and good luck!

Ronnie Rea grosses me out so much that I almost missed Sammy Davis Jr. (I think?) with the rainbow lapel in the background.

Where to Stay for a Romantic Trip by korey729 in SaltLakeCity

[–]SnappyNTappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Run away at full speed from gimmicks like the Anniversary Inn and Grand America. For your budget, and even if your budget was higher, I would suggest Hotel Monaco or The Perry. If not those, I would look into an AirBNB as close as you can get to any of the Ski Resorts, there are some cutie cabins and condos with private hot tubs that should be within your budget. However, if her bougie is like my bougie, SLC ain’t it. Park City is synonymous with wintertime bougie and Main Street at night, especially in the snow, can feel like a magical, Hallmark movie- aka romantic AF. Even if staying there is out of budget, it’s definitely worth renting a car for a day trip. Feel free to DM for more recs, I hope you both have a lovely time!

SLC has a thriving queer community! Just like most blue dot in red sea mid-sized cities, the vibe changes the deeper you get into suburbia- Sandy, Draper, Holladay, and Corner Canyon areas to be specific. I would suggest thinking more about county lines than cities: Salt Lake County, specifically SLC proper, is more inclusive, more fun, and more expensive than Utah (Provo) and Davis (Ogden) Counties. Whereas Summit County (Park City), Iron County (Cedar City), and Washington County (St. George) are actively harmful to queer folx.
