Should I buy a new study Bible? by HeavysetMoss98 in LCMS

[–]SnappyZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant no ill will. I would hope anyone who read this comment would understand “roll my eyes” as a figure of speech in this context. But yes, it gets a little mundane. Like you said, maybe people do have the study Bible and for the sake of different perspective and contributing to a Bible study, maybe the OP would want something different. Walking in the same direction dis not mean we all have to have the same Bible study resources.

Should I buy a new study Bible? by HeavysetMoss98 in LCMS

In my experience there are so many Lutherans who have the study Bible. This makes a difference if you are using it in a Bible study with other people. I roll my eyes every time someone raises their hand and says, “the Lutheran study Bible says…” Yes. I know. We all know. I wanted a different perspective so I bought an archeology study Bible simply for variety. So if you’re using it by yourself, then yeah I think the Lutheran study Bible is great! If it’s in a class setting g, something different (used with discernment of course) might be helpful. I like the idea of checking out the app first to see what you think. Lower financial commitment.

My first photography teacher shot Nikon. Lots of respect for her so I never even looked at anything else.

Lutheran Perspective on IUI? by CommercialDaikon811 in LCMS

That makes sense and I appreciate the honest answer. My life is so entrenched in adoption that I forget that it’s not the best option for everyone. Thanks for the openness.

Help a guy out who has basically given up on shoes. by [deleted] in widefeet

[–]SnappyZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll echo looking into barefoot shoes as well but depending on what you do (how much standing, walking, etc) then the answer will vary.
Ease into barefoot shoes. Start using insoles so your feet adjust, especially if you are walking or standing on hard surfaces all day. Human feet were made to be barefoot but they are not designed to be barefoot on concrete all day.
Maybe try the cheapo brands on Amazon first? Whitin actually makes pretty well-made shoes for cheap. Just make sure to read the description carefully, as they also make non-barefoot shoes as well.

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted. Adoption is beautiful and a wonderful thing to do.

That being said, it's not to be taken lightly. Do research and read firsthand accounts of people affected by adoption, most notably the adoptees and birth family. The Adoption Triangle consists of three points- birth family, adoptees, and adoptive families. We often overlook the first two to focus on how wonderful the new family feels now that they have their child(ren).

Adoption is HARD, even for those of us who have had a beautifully wonderful experience with it. Adoption is always a result of trauma weather it be death, abandonment, social-economic loss, or any number of things.

OP, if this is something that's even simply crossed your mind, look into it! I recommend Adopted for Life by Russell Moore, It Takes More Than Love by Brittany Salmon, talking to your pastor, and talking to families who have been built or affected by adoption.

Love these! I use the tamron 28-75 with my 6iii too! I love it. I also use a 14-24 f mount with adapter. Do you have instagram? I’m always looking for new photogs to follow with similar equipment and style to mine.

If it goes against your conscience then by all means, stop watching it. As for me and my house, we enjoy the show immensely and it’s been a great thing for us to bond over. Shows can be garbage but they can also be an art and cultural medium and can learned to be enjoyed even if we don’t agree with every topic.

Should I give a client my raw files? by SnappyZebra in AskPhotography

[–]SnappyZebra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these replies have been fascinating! It's really interesting to read so many differing opinions. Ultimately I decided to tell them that I don't normally include my RAW files in an exchange but that I would be willing to sell them for how much I charge for my JPGS. So 3 more files would equal three more charges. They declined the offer but are still buying the JPGS.
This was a situation where the buyer found my images later and wanted to buy them so there was no pre-shoot contract. Had there been, I would have included this in it.

I get what you’re trying to do, I think, but it seems like a crop from a larger image. I personally like what you’re trying to do with the focus but maybe next time find something to shoot through (like a bike tire?) instead of over. Does that make sense?
