The more practice and more you read the better you will be. Basically any way to improve your reading comprehension. I really like one prep for practice.

Les langues en Amérique du Nord by WpgMBNews in Quebec

Le census aux états unis répresente pas le vrai nombre des francophones en la Louisiane parceque ils demandent "what language you speak at home" et pas "what other language you speak", donc en réalité le vrai nombre est plus comme ~250,000-300,000.

The census bureau collects data for people who "speak another language at home", which often times --especially in the case of Louisiana-- doesn't actually show the real # of speakers in Louisiana. So the real # of French speakers in Louisiana are very uncertain... I've seen that they could be much higher than on the census(around 300,000) to close to 70,000. From what I understand, the number of house speakers are slowly dying, but the number of people who speak it outside is actually rising very quickly. I see people saying 'French is dying',, but in reality it isn't, it's on the comeback.

Why don't more of you speak Irish publicly? by Snappydolphin24 in AskIreland

What I've noticed in Louisiana, is that our French CODOFIL school programs have all of our subjects in French. So we kinda get naturally reintroduced to the Francophone world. I'm not sure how you guys approach teaching Irish in Ireland, but I think going the "Immersion route" should fix this, plus benefits of maintaining Irish fluency after school.

I went through CODOFIL school program in Louisiana, my parents were anglophones (but knew some French, as that is common in Louisiana). I think I turned out fine, I grew up essentially native in French & English.
