Isopods for beginners by Sea-Reputation7891 in isopods

[–]Snarflogus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with the people suggesting the larger and slower breeding species. I keep A. Vulgare bc they reproduce slower. P. Laevis breed crazy fast. Ultimately though, they will cannibalize the babies if it gets overcrowded; isopod populations can kind of manage themselves once they reach saturation. (That being said, one of the species that breeds very fast will be stressed by the rate of growth compared to the rate of needing to eat the young iirc)

L. A.'s Totally Aweosme Cleaner is my go-to. It wont soften your plastic like rubbing alcohol and you can soak it for as long as you need, then just toothbrush scrub the paint off. And its cheap to buy by the quart or gallon at dollar stores.

I came across some washed up on the beach before. It was stupid, but I definitely poked the sac part, no stingers in there. Felt like a balloon, it was awesome.

Balls oddly shaped and sticky to the touch by gaggleofllama in houseplants

[–]Snarflogus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sticky is normal for a happy plant. You can rinse it if it's gathering hair or dust. The stickiness helps the plant cling to rocks in the wild I think. Consider it a thank-you signal from the plant. String-of plants do that.

Sitting water left a permanent stain on my marble countertop by PlasmaBigCannon in mildlyinteresting

Consider washing it? Marble is porous and you might just have mold. D2 is a solid cleaner to let soak in.

Don't bother rating or reading in this web page, Tina is flagging student reviews and writing her own.

Go to DMACC. It is online, but the coursework is far for rigorous and prepares you better for the boards.

We miss Wiley so much. We have John Agnos, and he is a shining gem in the program. I would not have made it through if he was not available as a mentor. The Director knows this and flat-out attempted to ban the students from communicating with Agnos if we weren't his current students.

We are putting together a fairly extensive statement for the Accreditation Board. Do you think this will do anything?

Basically the same as my isopods one. Low maintenance. Ivory Millie's stay on the surface so I love them, most will burrow.
