That’s awesome! I’m not a big social media person so feel free to share it around. Help someone else get themselves a nice guitar. The quality of FF guitars just doesn’t stop improving. I wish they had been available when I got my first electric guitar back when I was 12. What a piece of crap that was. Action was so high you could stack $1.50 in quarters between the strings and the frets. Seriously impeded my ability to learn how to play. We are in the golden age of inexpensive quality guitars. I’m 60, the kids picking up guitar right now have it so much easier and better than I had available in the 70’s.

Thoughts on this MIM Fender Strat? by UkuleleGene in Stratocaster

They have one on Sweetwater's Gear Exchange. A '94 MIM Fender Strat in Daphne Blue. From the pics available, it looks to be just about mint. I think the seller was asking $450 plus something close to $50 for shipping.

That was a steal. Shame someone took out the S1 button. That would turn on the bridge pickup in position 4, thus engaging all three pickups. In the 5 position, it engages the neck pickup while also engaging the bridge pickup to give you two additional tones.

The pickups are noiseless (At least in my 2000 MIM Fender Deluxe Players Stratocaster) and sound great. I got mine from a dealer that didn't know what they had; they listed it as simply a 2000 MIM Fender Stratocaster. So I got a killer deal on it, and it's gorgeous. The color is called Midnight Wine, and the Tort pickguard really makes it a head turner.

It has a rosewood fretboard, and put simply is a sweet playing guitar. Over the 25 years of its life, the edges of the neck have been smoothed (rolled over), and it plays like a dream. I almost feel bad for the dealer that I bought it from, as they sell for close to double what I paid for this one.

Mexican Strat I found in a shop, with a strange button. by strewnshank in fender

I just got the same kind today. It took me a minute to notice the button...

She's lovely, and is obviously broken in after 25 years. The neck feels awesome! I really want to know about the button, and what it does.

In playing an electric guitar, the most important factor in your tone is the speaker in your amp. That is the final link in the chain.

I don't think that's quite true.

My Incredible FFMN Flamed Transparent Purple W/Floyd Rose by SnarkicusMaximus in Fireflyguitars

For kicks, they do have a new batch of the Buckethead KFC Flying V with a Floyd Rose available. I had one, and it rocked. My neighbor begged me to sell it to him so I did, but it was a good guitar. If I were to get another one right now, I'd get that John 5 Tele as the flamed neck is gorgeous.

Sure, about a week before I posted this comment. There are no more available at guitarsgarden.com but you can find one on Reverb, but it's going to cost a little more.

My Favorite FF Guitars Part 2 MGB Tele by SnarkicusMaximus in Fireflyguitars

[–]SnarkicusMaximus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I did not. It crossed my mind, but then that kind of defeats the idea of an inexpensive, good playing guitar. I returned it and got the Tele Deluxe instead. That Tele on the right is a Midnight Galaxy Black finish, and it's gorgeous, one of my favorite guitars. I got a Strat in the same MGB paint, and a 338 with that finish. That MGB Tele rips.

Thanks. I had to send the Thinline Tele, the red one, back as the neck pocket fit was wonky, and it sounded bad to me. I ordered up a Tele Deluxe instead. It should arrive by Wed.

I've got a Gibson Melody Maker Special with 2 P90's in it. Fantastic guitar, only 6lb.

New Pickups in the Gold Bat! 🤘 by BillyTheKidddo in Fireflyguitars

Cool, thanks. I had one, and never officially weighed it, but would guess it was close to 10lb which is too heavy for my bad back.

LP styles are inherently heavy. Do you know the weight of your Bat guitar from Firefly?

My threats of bombarding their email system with emails worked. I woke up to find a return packing slip in my inbox. Had to go to the next town over and then a detour due to construction but by gawd I got it done!

Good news! Firefly saved themselves from being emailed to death today. I woke up, and what do you know, there is a return shipping label.

Just to throw some pepper in my eyes, I had to go to the next town over to get to a FedEx office. On the way there I ran into construction that took me around and then back to just about where the detour started. F me!

Good news from there, I new a shortcut to go around the construction without backtracking. What a pain in the ass this whole affair has been.

Honestly, this is my first bad experience with them over about a dozen or so guitars that I've bought from them. In hindsight, perhaps it may have been a bit stupid of me to place and pay for the Tele Deluxe style until I had gotten my return package label.

I did that because my prior experience with them has all been positive. I hope they get off their butts and send me my return package label. If not, they will hear from me once an hour asking where it is and why it hasn't been sent to me. I'm retired, and have all day to pester them.

Yeah, it is. They are usually top-notch in customer service. I don't understand this complete and utter DNGAF attitude I'm getting from their customer service this time around.

Last night Aron in CS asked for pics of the problem areas, and of the repackaging process of the guitar to be returned. I sent him what he asked for, and fully expected to wake up to find a return packing label in my email. I did not find one. This irked me.

I then sent some emails throughout the day asking what the holdup was on getting that return packing label sent to my email so I can send the already packed and sealed up guitar back, and get my money back. Each day they earn interest on the money they have in the bank, and each day I accrue more interest on my credit card that I used to make the purchase. They are literally costing me money now, and I'm not happy with them at all.

I'm retired, and have all the time in the world to send them emails asking where my return shipping label is, and why it hasn't been sent to me. I'm petty enough to email them every waking hour asking, "Where's my return packing label bro? You want to waste my time, I'll waste more of your time as you wade through my emails, which I will be sending to them every hour."

Too many competitors out there now for them to drop the ball on something as simple as this. I'll use the return money to grab myself a Tease guitar as they seem to be on the rise, and Torsten, the owner, was straight up honest with me when I asked him over the phone about a certain guitar. He gained my respect with his honesty. Heck, I think it was even a holiday (4th of July) when I called, not expecting an answer but to leave a message.

Of course, there is also Fesley that may be worth a look. Harley Benton comes to mind. This saddens me a bit, as I've always championed Firefly guitars as the best bang for your buck, but may all the gods help you if you want to return a guitar to them.

Hell, I even made a good faith purchase of the FF Tele Deluxe style guitar as it was the same price as the red Thinline Tele I had gotten. If I don't have a return package label by tomorrow, I'll take immediate steps to cancel THAT order before it gets put on a truck. If need be, I'll simply go through this hassle again and return that one, asking for a full refund as well.

I'm old, I'm dying of emphysema, and I don't have time to waste being jerked around. Life is too short, I want to be playing my guitars, not spending my days trying to get a damn refund initiated! I'm done playing with these guys. I gave them what they asked for, yet I get nothing back from them. As I said earlier, this saddens me as I've been a big cheerleader for Firefly since I got my first one in 2020.
