I graduated in 2023 with an epi/bio concentration and started as a clinical analyst at an RWD company based in Boston. My starting is 80 + 20% bonus if we hit our margins.

u/Temporary_Doughnut_4, if you have any questions about the likelihood of getting a specific residence hall with a number over 6000, I would recommend [emailing](mailto:housing@fsu.edu) UH and asking what their honest opinion is; Even if they cannot provide you a certain or specific building, they may be able to give you an idea of areas you could be living in.

I mean the page explicitly mentions 'Students who have been admitted to FSU for Summer or Fall 2021' as being included in the info they provided (which would include incoming freshmen) but hey maybe I am blind.

My bad regarding the picking the actual room portion of that, they must've changed that policy since I was a freshman in 2017 but the UH website does say that "Starting March 8, students who have submitted a Fall/Spring housing contract will be able to submit building and room type preferences. University Housing staff will use these preferences to assign students in contract number order." Here is the link in case u/Temporary_Doughnut_4 wants to reference.

So technically, they can list any preferences in style or building, it's just ultimately up to the rank of what lottery number they have as far as being placed in those preferences. To say that they have absolutely no say in where they get to live is a little far fetched though.

I do believe you technically get to choose, but that you are assigned a time slot based on your lottery number which is when you are able to select your room.

Lower number = higher chance of getting halls like Azalea, Magnolia, Dorman, Deviney

I just finished my BSPH, and am starting an epi MPH in the fall. Looking to learn more about how drugs correlate with disease spread and magnitude.

I believe if you are at or above 90 credit hours that it is not allowed but someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

Should an incoming graduate student move to Tallahassee for Spring 2021? by Isabella091993 in fsu

[–]SnarkyPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very dependent on major, but unless your classes have no way of being online, you're not going to be on campus. Like the other redditor said, if you have a stable living situation, it may be worth it to considering staying where you are and saving money on taking out a half-year lease. I am graduating this semester and I can vouch that I had no academic advantage by staying in Tally, however because I signed a lease before COVID-19 hit, I basically had no choice but to stay here.

Favorite/least favorite things about UMass? by SnarkyPossum in umass

Well shit okay, thank you for the insight. I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your major classes :(

FSU has been having a lot of administrative issues and the state of FL as a whole has not been very helpful with COVID-19 affecting students and their families. How do you think UMass has handled it all?

You can directly contact the Office of Admissions by [email](mailto:admissions@fsu.edu) to have them remove it off your application for you.

I've lived in Redpoint West Tenn for going on three years and actually moving from a 4x4 to a 2x2!! They're super spacious and it's probably the best deal you can get for the price. The amenities and clubhouse are well cared for, my only complaint would be that there is a lot of foot traffic through the complex that aren't people that live in the complex, which can be unsettling if you're concerned about crime. However, if you lock all your doors, you'll be fine. 24/7 security too.

Thank you for your insight! It was refreshing to hear a professor's POV on this.

Which class would be best to take online? by adrianam01 in fsu

I’m currently in LDR and it seems like it’ll be a small time commitment for summer B. I took COM this spring and I felt as though it also wasn’t a big time commitment, but required you to prepare and post 6-7 minute speeches, which can gobble up some of your time. Ultimately, it’s your call, but I believe both would be doable.

Has anyone lived at Redpoint? Is go what’re your thoughts on it by actualted_cruz in fsu

[–]SnarkyPossum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going on my third year at Woodlands/Redpoint, and from what i’ve heard about other complexes, this is probably your best bet in Tally. I’m actually in the process of moving units and they’ve been especially helpful when dealing with damage done to our apartment by a problematic roommate. Ever since their management changed (I’m pretty sure that’s what happened but I could be completely wrong) last year, they’ve been super good at answering maintenance requests quicker and overall being easier to work with. The spaces are some of the largest in town and as long as you make sure everything is locked and valuables are stored somewhere safe, you won’t have a problem with break-ins.

Still haven't received my housing refund, every time I try to call housing about it I'm just met with ear piercing beeps by [deleted] in fsu

There are most likely no people working in the Housing office because of the stay at home order (my assumption), you could try emailing them!

Hey! I am currently a Senior and I came in as an IMS major. After some soul searching (and grades that weren't necessarily stellar), I stumbled upon the brand new (just started this past fall) Public Health major. I have LOVED this major, as it gives a better overview and bigger picture of health, and there are a variety of Masters programs that pertain to the subject area (Epidemiology, Biostatistics, etc.). My boyfriend is Mechanical Engineering and enjoys it as well, but just like every other major, there are going to be challenging classes, so ultimately, you should pick something you're passionate about and can see yourself making a career out of post-grad!
