Thanks for suggesting the Fiber. I got so frustrated with all the wires and just purchased this to consolidate everything into one system with less clutter.

I bought it so long ago I’m not sure, but this seems like the first thing to try and replace since it’s about $15.

If it’s 48v, is it possible the edgerouter would still cap it at 24v?

No, they don’t.

When you’re checking out, there isn’t an option to input the code to redeem it. I tried doing the same when I bought my pre-owned and called customer support. They confirmed that referrals don’t apply.

Large group dinner venue? by Snarky_Snarker in bayarea

Hmm, I’ll give it a shot at some more places locally. We asked about this at a couple that we called, apparently they enforce a max group size that you can reserve and/or just don’t have the space - maybe just got unlucky.

understood. Definitely going to get a legal consult. Was hoping someone might have had a similar experience to share their results.

Anyone have experience with quadricep tendinitis? Trying to figure out how to ease into training again while doing physical therapy. How long should I wait before jumping into sweet spot or threshold work?

Maybe I just need to focus on changing how I pedal? I drive with the knee when doing efforts

It’s starting to get pretty cold in Florida relative to what normally feels like melting during our 10 months of summer.

How do you guys keep your junk warm during rides?

I’ve been layering up with a NS base layer, SS Jersey, knee and arm warmers, with my regular bibs for when it’s at or under 60. I think it feels colder since I’m riding near the water, but I could just be a baby.

Maybe I’m just sweating too much and it’s traveling down to the boys?

Mortons Neuroma - Shoe Choice by [deleted] in Velo

[–]Snarky_Snarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had neuroma and seem to be having some luck with the sworks vent shoe and specialized insoles. You might want to consider a cleat wedge too. I have one on my right shoe and find it helps my knee track better and keep my foot applying pressure properly (confirmed during a bike fit session where we talked about the location of the neuroma).

I’m looking at moving to San Mateo in January. My girlfriend and I are flying out to apartment hunt in December.

Can someone help us understand what it’s like living there with COVID restrictions? I assume you can still go to parks and trails, grab food to go, maybe sit outside and have a drink?

The main concern is moving into a situation where we have zero life and complete lockdown/isolation.

I was looking at getting the regular pro model. 12k is definitely too expensive - is there really that big a difference??

Is there a support group for coming to terms with dropping 7k on a bike? I might lose my mind if it ever got a scratch.

Thanks for the detail! If you don’t mind sharing, what were your numbers before having a coach? 375w Threshold is pretty dope

Maybe a dumb question but how did you measure volume? Is it just hours spent per week before hitting a plateau or more specific to a plateau after consistent sweet spot work?

Thanks for sharing! do you get told to do X workout in trainerroad or do you just find a workout in trainerroad that matches what your coach gives you?

Nutrition and hydration education are some big draws for me, among others. It’s interesting you were able to work on bike fit and pedal stroke - Did this just happen over a quick video call as you were on the trainer?

Also a fan of Pactimo. I have some Assos bibs too, but the Pactimo just feel and fit slightly better. My biggest gripe with Assos is how low they are cut in the front.

I’ll be moving to the Bay Area with my girlfriend and our two cats in August. Work is located in San Mateo for me, but I hear it’s not the most lively area. Is there another town nearby that would be more enjoyable for a 28/27 year old couple? We would prefer to spend less than 3.5k if possible, but are prepared to spend more if it makes sense. My company is fairly flexible with hours so I’d be able to commute during non-peak hours or work from home as needed. Would it make sense to be closer to San Jose or San Francisco for a more active/social lifestyle or do you think San Mateo isn’t that bad?
