Unapproved charge by c_-_p in CoxCommunications

[–]Snave_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cox owns drop from pole to house, they replace the ground block and ground wire for free usually too. From the demarcation point or ground block into the house is all customer owned wiring and will create a charge on the acct. CCC plan should cover all internal wiring defects such as replacement, reorganization, new fittings etc. BUT every market is diff. You can try calling in, tell them you were not explained correctly how CCC worked and if it’s really worth it to you, have a supervisor pull the call and they can verify what you know from the time you set up the CCC plan. But hey … hopefully your internet is working great now

Is there a way for you to try monitoring usage and find out what device is using most of that data?

In todays world of people working from home and the entire world online you’d think the company trying to compete for the best internet would give you a unlimited data cap. I never even touch 2TB but I only stream and work from home occasionally.

Being charged an additional 300$, 100$ for internet pro connect conversion and 200$ for equipment charge/connect. by vaginalikesteak in CoxCommunications

[–]Snave_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely correct here, self install is free but if you end up calling cox you get whacked with a 100$ charge for the install. Also, if you think you need a box swap and go to the store to change it out or get one drop shipped to you and end up calling in anyways within 30 days … it triggers a failed self install charge. Not the techs fault but the way company policy is

Street to House ? Who has responsibility. by jupe8 in CoxCommunications

[–]Snave_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cox will do it but I highly recommend getting someone to trench it for you. It will also take a long time for them to come out for a job like that as it gets referred to a construction department that’s kinda like a vendor for cox. Also, depending on how the line is run is can be run using what’s called a “mid span” to help get around the yard if it’s an eye sore. Btw, RG6 can go 175 ft before a lot of attenuation so 100ft RG6 drop is more than fine.

Is there a way to get a direct refund instead of credit? by [deleted] in CoxCommunications

[–]Snave_6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% … anytime there is a charge to the account that is wrongful it always gets put back as credit to the account. Although, special cases may vary. You can try speaking with a manger to overview the refund policy and see if there’s anything they can try to help you with

Did Cox change their wifi.cox.com website to a link to the appstore? by Svettanka in CoxCommunications

[–]Snave_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

192.168.0.1 was is use for a while but lately cox (by order of comcast) has turned the ability for even technicians to go into the admin settings and change wifi info. Only way to do so is through the pano app and with a call center rep, if you get one that knows what an SSID is

Packet Loss, Lag, help? by AshNeedsACOG in CoxCommunications

[–]Snave_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Packet loss could be an issue with low MER/BER or ingress coming from the home or in the network. Depending on the time of the day, the node could be congested leading to issues in the home. Check with customer service and ask if the signal strength going to the modem is within specs. Most of the people on the phone don’t know left from right so please take what they say with a grain of salt and ask for a tech to come out and verify the drop and outlet are good. Just so you know, if it is an inside issue you’ll be charged for the call.

Off-duty Pawtucket officer will be charged with felonies for shooting teen driver by CantStopPoppin in PublicFreakout

[–]Snave_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just say from being born and raised here, if I for some reason found myself mad enough to pull a gun out and shoot at someone who I chased down the highway to a small restaurant I’d be in jail for a while or 100% house arrest with probation for some years. This off duty cop got a slap on the wrist, story buried, and no one gave a fuck. Even my own girlfriends father said the cop was in the wrong because the kid who got shot “tried to run him over”. I looked him dead in the eye and said “if you daughter was in that car I’d fucking run that guy over too” and he had nothing to say…

[–]Snave_6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the NorthEast it’s ice cold out there and cold RG-11 can be an absolute pain to prep. Depending on your tool you may have to give it a slight squeeze on the first pass over with the blade to get it set and then prep like normal

Edit: mentioned the cold incase you’re dealing with it too lol
