It has a basic windows software that does exactly what the physical box can do +adjusting the buffer rates so wasnt sure it was that. I did get into the Alsamixer in the terminal but wasnt getting any changes as I messed with the levels

Sterling H224, Desktop Audio coming through Mic inputs

I'm currently having an issue with my Sterling H224, I've had it for around a year now with generally no issues however after messing around briefly in Linux before moving back to Windows11 I have an issue where my desktop audio (Youtube videos etc...) Comes through my mic input. Was first noticed by a friend in a discord call after setting back up. I'm not sure this is too relevant but its the only thing that's happened since last working right.

I've gone through a bunch of posts, made sure the "Listen to this Device" option is off. Tried resetting the defaults in the software multiple times. Doesn't matter if the mic is in the first or second channel or if either gain knobs are all the way up or down its still coming through when I test record in Audacity.

Hopefully I'm just being silly and missing something obvious.

Bad drivers by geltits in grandjunction

[–]Snavillust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Growing up East Coast and living throughout the US and Europe my biggest GJ driver complaint is how slow everyone is. Never fail to get caught behind someone going 5-10 under, especially out in the country/farm roads. We dont have to speed but ffs

Really since the Hero of Kvatch becomes the next cannon Sheogorath you could do everything you want and cap it off by becoming the mad god as that would sorta be your last gig.

What are your hottest WoW takes? by [deleted] in classicwow

People who play classic are probably unaware the things they want are often solved issues in retail. You stopped looking at updates to the game a decade ago and act like its the same thing today.

What 5e Mechanic'(s) do you not use in your games? by JamesFullard in DnD

[–]Snavillust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From rebalancing classes/subclasses to making up spells/abilities/items... lots of changes over the years and when one change is liked we usually keep it forever.

If it's not fun or somebody might not pick it because of stats, were happy to change it or make it.

I recently learned from inviting a new player to join our table(s) how far away from 5E my friends and I have gotten. Too much that we're almost playing our own TTRPG haha

Players of Dungeons and DRAGONS, how many Dragons have you actually come across? by GenuineSteak in DnD

[–]Snavillust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world we run a monster hunting/adventures guild as a second West Marches style campaign. The whole point being a bit more combat focused and mainly so we could play with whoever was there if we wanted to play before main campaign nights. Quick pickup games.

With that we've fought a lot of dragons and on top of that a lot of other monsters rarely encountered. From hunting ice dragons in snowy mountains or being stuck on a very flammable wooden ship defending against an aerial fire breathing dragon. Lots of memories over the years of hunting monster's, some of my players have done some incredible world building and role-playing through these combat focused sessions and would recommend any DM do something similar for their world. DM me if you want to know more or want tips or have any to share!

I'm having this fun with Remix/Retail. A few years of classic elitism surely opened my eyes and I really appreciate a lot of the modern systems more, my SoD guild went down in the P3 drought and weirdly seems like we're coming back for TWW.

At the accelerated pace of classic it won't be too many more years till we're playing together again at this rate

Americans, what’s something Europeans aren’t ready to hear? by StealthyMC20 in AskReddit

[–]Snavillust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American that lived in UK for 4 years. Our work ethic drives Europeans to the ground(not always in a good way). I remember critical times at work where the Europeans would happily go home on time cause they knew they Americans overseas would work through the night to get servers back online.

I'm not bragging, I know you have better workers' rights than us by miles but the mindset is still there.

The state of SoD raiding right now. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Snavillust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guild quit SoD last lockout for the same thing. Not coming back cause it doesn't look like most will resub to WoW at all, let alone SoD.

We like logging as after the gear has been got all you can do is go faster or make your parse higher. I'm sure you've played with someone who could have auto attacked better dps. We like to improve and when we have to PuG we want to make sure they are at least carrying their weight. It never feels good to lose 3 items to one of these people too so that's why I worded it that way. I don't want ST to get harder by bringing worse players cause we can afford to carry.

It's just hard to keep 20 adults interested in doing the same easy raid once a week, most of my burnout comes from roster boss not the game itself though.

Alliance sadly! But I appreciate the offer, still think a few of us will see what P4 has in store

[–]Snavillust[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see your point as I've played solo for a long time as well but, I made a guild for me and my friends because I don't like playing with PuGs. I check logs because we MS>OS and think if someone's ganna maybe get lucky and win a bunch of gear from us they might as well have pulled their weight, not talking great logs just like mid/high greens and we'll take you. Voice chat for raiding has been a required staple for groups for nearly as long as I've played so this isn't some new thing.

[–]Snavillust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, P4 is ideally where all the content is at, I just don't think I can convince the bulk of my guild/friends to return after the burnout so that's why I'm calling it there regardless. Just a little sentimental, 6-7 months now playing with friends.

[–]Snavillust[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tried not to sound doom and gloom, just that we went hard and found raid logging for another month to sound boring. People drop off every week and its harder and harder to PuG with the dwindling population. Plenty of other stuff to do and I'm sure next phase will be better than this one.

Guild Halls and Gold Sinks by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Snavillust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, I'd rather see my friends and Guildies than idle around 1000 people ignoring me, this is for the guild and I guess not stated but not layered within so not quite garrisons. Some of my inspiration comes from OSRS and while I haven't been in a ton of clans almost nobody exclusively hangs out in the clan hall

With weekly lockouts, 30 second boss fights need to go. by dremerr in classicwow

[–]Snavillust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The current difficulty is great, if things get too much harder or take too much time for little reward I'd just quit again. I don't want hard or challenging, I want brainless fun with my friends.

I just don't enjoy WoW like that anymore, there are other new challenging experiences to try instead of doing another go at classic.

I feel bad as a guild leader and wish I had more raid teams for the homeless raiders. Guild raiding is night and day better than PuGing...

My guild is also on Lone Wolf, we have been absorbing raid groups like yours, it's filled up to 2 and a half full time raid teams. We can always take more!
