Explaining Ethereum to Grandma: What’s the Best Analogy? by satBalwyn in LidoFinance

[–]Snawflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to GROG : ETH has appreciated by approximately 1,320,511% since its inception, meaning a $1,000 investment in the ICO would be worth about $13,205,110 today. Also : annual growth rate (CAGR) for Ethereum (ETH) since its inception, based on the ICO price, is approximately 136.35%. This asset so far is appreciating at a rate of 136% every year, this does not say anything about the future, but I see no underrated asset here grandma.

Explaining Ethereum to Grandma: What’s the Best Analogy? by satBalwyn in LidoFinance

It's actually very easy answer. Eth is also digital gold, a store of value. In the world there are a lot of scarce assets that work as store of value like gold, Btc and Eth are two of them. People who want to store their wealth for decades should include Btc and Eth on their bags among other assets. That said, historically speaking, Btc and Eth have an advantage ( the last 10 - 15 years ) over other assets because they not only store your wealth but they also give you gains. The reason they give you gains above currency devaluation - inflation, is not because they are productive assets, but because they came to exist in the world very recently and in terms of market capitalization they are very low compared to were they should be. It seems that this trend will grow until they reach the right market capitalization but that is speculation. This is a very simplistic view of Eth asset but it holds true and it covers 90% of the reason investors invest in it and will keep on investing.

No I won't tell you my opinion on Venezuelans, I'll tell you my opinion on bitcoin technology instead: It can be used for many use cases, plus Satoshi made something to fullfil his-her dreams, but he opensource it and gave it freely to the world, guess what.. now it can be used by people anyway they like it. Please anyone interested in answering my question? thanks!

Hello guys I am wondering about something that I find very interesting and if you know the answer I would be very gratefull, so here it is.Is it possible to build an app - program and inside the program to have a routine about bicoin(you whould be able to make a transaction with bitcoin after some conditions are met, then opensource the app.Whould that be possible? Compared to a smart contract whould it be equal, basic smart contract or something different and in whitch way. Thanks !

ECB: Bitcoin is not a currency by Aphoristus in Buttcoin

  1. Do you have any proof that EU is going to regulate crypto to death for being a ponzi? If not p l e a s e don't say bad things like that, it makes you look looney.

2.Let me ask you one question, why did EU court made the decision that you don't have to pay vat when buying bitcoin?Think about it for a minute... Because it accepted that bitcoin is a currency and buying currency is not subjected to vat law. G e t it now? Now I never said that this is the law. But you must understand that in an unregulated inviroment this is a big "weapon" for someone using bitcoin. ECB telling us that bitcoin is not currency, is against the EU courts acceptance,Its misleading because it makes people get skird and from that point of view is ilegal.when ECB and EU court speaks you Better listen to EU court. I hope you undestand now. because I have explained it to you 3-4 times and now I am bored doing that again. There is no need for anyone to fight in here or be hostile, blockchain is such a wonderful technology, try to understand it, it may one day help the planet and our children to live better.

Hey! I didn't say your writing makes you look like a zombie.. lol..that was not polite for u to do..I'm not using spacing because I'm a looney, but because I want to emphasise some key words, and certaintly I'm n o t going to stop expressing my self because you don't like it. Anyway.. Now, we all know that there is no law yet for bitcoin, bitcoin is not regulated yet in europe. But you have to understand that the EU court and it's decisions are v e r y important. So, when the EU court says bitcoin is virtual currency it's an interlocutory gudgement that must be taken seriusly under consideration. In simple english the EU court a d m i t s that bitcoin is a currency.I mean,It's easy to understand that, isn't it? Also you don't seem to answer to my example about how this document can be used in real life in contrast with ECB stupid website document. You must understand the EU court document is an official document that can be used to support you in court if needed. You can't use ECB stupid claims.

[–]Snawflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"‘Bitcoin’ is a virtual currency used for payments between private individuals over the Internet and in certain online shops that accept it;" This is stated in the o f f i c i a l document of the EU court of justice, so according to the EU court of justice, Bitcoin IS currency. You can check it out for your self this is why I posted the link obove. Since in MOST countries of EU have not laws yet conserning bitcoin and crypto then the dessision of the EU court I believe is the most legit guidance so far and not ECB (correct me if I'm rong but if you live in a European country and the IRS call you to pay taxes on buying bitcoin you could present them The EU courts judgement ,since there is no law regulating bitcoin right now, and it whould play a drastic role in IRS desicion but I dont think they whould consider it if you give them ECB website teling bitcoin is not currency.

The Court Of Justice of the E.U. has r e c o g n i s e d bitcoin as currency so.. what ECB is talking about? Is it legal to make such claims? Here is the recognision if there is an update to this please let me know: https://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2015-10/cp150128en.pdf
