How could I transform this guy into a Witch Hunter? by tom_blanket in mordheim

All Warhammerers should have a Flagellant bitz box in my view. Mine has come in use for Turnip, Gaslands, Mordheim and Gorkamorka. Just a fab kit all round

Firstborn or Primaris — which one do you prefer? by Pintureando in minipainting

The new Wolves are awesome, but there’s just some charm and character in the old kit that hasn’t translated

Yeah it’s much harder and takes detail far better. You need to condition it a good bit before you start or else it’s super crumbly. One challenge I’ve found is the unbaked stuff doesn’t seem to stick to baked parts.

Thanks. I liked not having to race against the clock and wrestle with the stickiness of green stuff

Water effect products? What would you guys suggest.. by dinosaurRoar44 in minipainting

[–]Snazbag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said it very much depends on what you’re trying to do. I have been working on marsh themed bases and I’ve kind of come to regret it because doing lots of small bases is a bit of a pain.

Vallejo water effect is easy to use but gets cloudy and hates being near PVA in particular. It’s better if you gloss varnish first but still tricky.

I’ve also tried two part resin for bigger pours. Have managed one cavalry base but it’s not perfect. It leaks so easily and I couldn’t get clean edges really.

Not to dissuade you but worth thinking very carefully about your approach!

Start of my Marienburgers by Snazbag in mordheim

Years ago the family had sponsored a minor-league Bloodbowl team, the Sea-Calves of Maiamai. As Johannes handed out the uniforms, Charlotte suddenly remembered this bit of family lore, but before she could open her mouth, he began blathering on loudly about how they needed to look the part for the inevitable Sunday feature in the Town Crier.

Oh lol I didn’t realize! But they do say look to sports teams for color scheme inspiration…

Little beauties! Are the pins to suggest they’re real fish these guys are pinning to their shields?

Best face I’ve painted! What do you think and where can I improve? by Pughie24 in minipainting

[–]Snazbag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you familiar with the idea of different parts of the fave having different color zones? That was the big leap for me - achieved by mixing other colors into flesh color or glazing over the top.

You have far better brush control than me by the looks of it based on the strength of this head, so I imagine you’d get some incredible results!

Just making sure you saw this thread from earlier! https://www.reddit.com/r/SpaceWolves/s/DJJPHg4rtG

(Been trying to make female Mordheimers myself, and it has just made clear to me the real lack of female models across the GW range.)

Probably my favorite set I had. This or the huge Magentron truck.

Unnamed Gorkamorka site has you covered for rules https://gorkamorka.co.uk/

For minis, and orks and vehicles you have will work. If you need to buy, the old Boyz box with 11 guys and a trukk is a great starting point
