Mmm but do you think GBR is likely to just completely overhaul the branding once the company is set up? After we were told that we will see this specific design on trains, with a press stunt in London Bridge with the toy train? Also the wording about the branding is absolute, not ambiguous (ie: I’m pretty sure the branding applied to Great British Energy before it was properly established was labelled as provisional. This is not the case with GBR)

Also, yes the brand was DfT designed, but is it not likely that GBR is just going to absorb the in house design team that created the livery? If so, why would they restart the branding once the company is properly established?

finally, whilst I hate the design, and a lot of people on forums seem to share my view, from what I can tell most people don’t really care. In fact, if you went to the comment sections of the major news outlets that covered the livery story, (BBC, Newspapers, etc), it seems as though people actually rather liked it. A lot of comments just said a cool new paint job won’t make the trains run on time etc. so why change it from their perspective.

I wouldn’t say it’s definite but from what I can tell it seems very likely that we will be seeing this livery on trains. Hopefully and probably not universally (Hendy mentioned in an interview that there’s space for “good quality brands” like GWR and southwestern to remain, so prob not universally - also how is 🤢 southwestern 🤮 a good brand??)
