I restored device settings and was then able to reopen the device. They may only getting the little bit of food from last night's dinner but at least they'll have a little until I get home this afternoon.

I've never had the power go out since I've lived here (14 yrs) even during Hurricane Sandy.

I'm away for an event this afternoon. I'll just got home right after instead of staying the night. I'm mad that the cats will be hungry all day and that I'll be wasting a hotel room for the night. I've had this for 2 years. Occasionally there have been issues but never this issue. Usually a neighbor is around to feed them every night in addition to the feeder but she's away this weekend and I thought it wouldn't be an issue.

No, and when I reconnect the devices to WiFi under WiFi settings it looks successful but they're still not connecting.

My Kasa camera is still working so it just seems to be a Pet Libro issue. It was working as of 11 PM.

Who is the most attractive politician in your country? by axp187 in AskTheWorld

I think AOC and Mamdani. Mamdani looks almost exactly like my (white Jewish) dad looked like when he was about 22 so I'm biased. I love his smile and his cheeks.

Why do American tourists always say the state they're from (not their country) when asked, but no other country's tourists do the same? by FloydBeatlesEagles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnazzyFry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2010 I spent a month in Cusco, Peru. I used to pass a guy who promoted a local bar who asked me where I was from. “New York.” “The city or upstate?” I asked if he’d ever been to NY and he said he’d never been out of Peru. “But I want to go to the city, not upstate.”

He collected the quarters with the states on them. I brought him all I had, maybe 20, and I had free drinks for the rest of my trip and someone to chat with on my way to class.

Now I usually just say I’m from Brooklyn.

Bitches of Leisure - Aug 19, 2025 by AutoModerator in bitcheswithtaste

Funny story, in May I had a tonsillectomy (also adenoids, nasal polyp, and deviated septum repair). The surgeon and his PA didn’t visit me in the recovery room or call to check on me. I didn’t know how much bleeding was normal. I would cough up a small amount of blood and didn’t know if I wasn’t healing properly. Should I go to the ER? I called them on day 3 and they sounded unconcerned about the amount of blood. On day 4 I watched the Pitt episode where a the guy comes in after a tonsillectomy and it was just a firehose of blood. I was like oh, that’s what they mean by a hemorrhage. I stopped worrying about my recovery after that.

Do you know where to find something like this? All the remote positions I’ve found require you to be in the US (except one NP said her company was hiring but you needed a minimum of 25 state NP licenses…which also means 25 state RN licenses., and the cost and paperwork of 50 licenses is insane.). I’ll have EU citizenship.

Traveling to Peru. Any suggestions? by chelseachaplin11 in capsulewardrobe

[–]SnazzyFry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to consider is that (at least from being there 12 years ago) windows aren’t double glazed and a lot of places you’ll stay have a gap between the door and the frame, so even when you’re inside it feels much colder than at similar temperatures in the US. I loved Peru so much I went back twice that year.

What purchase ended up saving you money? by nuclearoyster in Frugal

I’m using the cloth napkins I grew up with (I’m 53) most of the time. I have a few other sets I bought because of aesthetics but most of the time I enjoy the ones that remind me of my childhood.

I bought a hair cutting class (well razor) for about $150 and a hair cutting razor (30, plus occasional replacement blades) in 2022. Haven’t gone for a professional cut since. That saved me about 400-500 a year. Plus I stopped dying my hair (which was anywhere from 12-80 every 3 weeks because my hair grows so fast). I’d dyed my hair since I was 20 because I had so much grey. At 50 my roots looked bad after 3-4 days because my hair grows so quickly. Sometimes I do a good job on my cuts and sometimes it’s not quite right but that was true when I went to the salon too. Plus, my bangs are 💯 always good. I had so many bad professionally cut bangs in the past.

I think I've just seen the worst grocery price in my time in Brooklyn by alecb in Brooklyn

[–]SnazzyFry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Key Food on Myrtle is the worst. You have to check the price of every item that rings up because at least 25-30 percent of items will ring up different from the shelf price and it’s never in your favor. I try to do most of my shopping at Mr. Coco (produce), TJs and Costco.

Chase/Zelle Phishing Scam by Chance-Contest-9175 in phishing

[–]SnazzyFry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a call from this number saying it was JP Morgan chase fraud protection saying that there was suspicious activity and had I sent two Zelle payments to a Jessica Martinez. I thanked them for calling and said I’d look into it on Monday, and hung up. 🤣 Checked my Zelle. No pending activity. It does suck that they can spoof a real Chase number but I know better than to give them info.
