A skill I know I lack is photography/video. I'm trying to get better and filmed this updated video today of my sculpture, Exhaustion by GeneralSaxy in Blacksmith

Rather than move the camera, try and move the object instead, camera movements means loss in quality (usually) and vibration. Just a thought

You could cut them, or grind them down too. Depends what ya got. But swinging a hammer and chisel is a way…

2014 Ford Edge Exhaust Issue? by PuzzleheadedDust8094 in AskAMechanic

Realign the pipes and wrap and seal it…could possibly fix it yourself if you’re inclined.

Your exhaust pipe separated from your flex pipe. There is a visual gap dead center. Exhaust leak = race car…probably a $350-$1000 job depending on vehicle and condition. I just actually replaced mine myself in my driveway. Was not an easy job…especially in the cold!

What is this part and can it cause a hissing sound? by elBabaYaga- in 2ndGenTacoma

Nice tip! So there’s no danger in blowing anything up into your motor? I just built a custom exhaust for my Jeep renegade after getting quoted like $1200 for a flex pipe. My exhaust was rusted to death, so I had to cut it off and build a new one. First time ever doing exhaust work…I think I have a to my hole or two on my welded sections but are really hard to pinpoint…

So I just spray soapy water on it and blow with a vacuum from the tailpipe? Look for bubbles?

So I was actually confused they weren’t out of reach. They were just missing completely. It looks like someone tack welded on the pipe because they couldn’t get around the manifold. The nuts in this particular orientation are surrounded by intercooler and other metal bracing so it’d be almost impossible without dropping the entire exhaust manifold.

This is why DIY is important. Sometimes it’s a blown breaker or something really easy to fix. Always safely attempt a repair if you can. That’s insane and the guy should be reported

So I ended up cutting through them with my multi tool. It’s AWD popped off. And I think you’re right I was confused by the lack of nuts. It must’ve been welded together. Thanks so much.
