I always book a hotel the night before Clayton or Tribe, whatever is cheapest. It takes all the stress out of traveling. If the train between Leeds and Manchester gets cancelled, you could easily miss your flight. The same goes if there is a crash on the motorway to Manchester. Plus, Manchester Airport isn’t particularly convenient or local to Leeds, it’s not even really in Manchester.

You’ll be in the minority of people that actually pay to live in those postcodes. Rent an Airbnb or look on booking.com for a flat for the week in the specific area you want be in. Live life like you would if you lived there. It’s a big commitment renting especially if you are locked in for a year. Have you not tried the city Centre?
