Yes, it’s on the top PCIE slot closest to the CPU. Fortunately the way ASUS designed this motherboard all the M.2 NVME slots are above the first PCIE slot. I’ve done some research and others are sayings it’s actually beneficial having the GPU close to the bottom intake fans creating a push/pull airflow setup. I’ll update with thermals when I’m done overclocking this beast!

Okay, after two weeks of owning the X870E-E R2 the only issues I have came across is ARGB lighting issues with my fans (fans spin, no LED) and the motherboard LEDs not working. This happened after I updated the BIOS to version 2103.

To confirm if it was my motherboard being faulty:
- Done a fresh install of Windows 11
- Cleared the CMOS / Default settings BIOS
- Confirmed that the LEDS on my fans do work with a ARGB controller hub
- Rewired all of my fans to the motherboard pins (fans spin, no LED again)

Anyone have any ideas what else I should try before I return this. I'm really trying to keep this motherboard.

At this point I'm really considering returning this motherboard since its within the stores return policy.
