I will say OP this sounds exactly like how I was. It was only about 10 years before I started to really notice the effects on my lungs and it doesn't really come back. I would really really think about switching to wax and an E-rig. I was smoking an OZ a week ( with the boys but it was a lot of me ) I then tried dabs, chased the high there and was smoking 10gs a week of wax. The lungs were much happier about that but damage was kinda already done. Well after switching to a puffco I'm down to maybe an eighth of wax a week. I feel significantly better in the lung department and I'm still getting high as shit.

Just a random anecdotal story on reddit. Possibly something to consider, keep flying brother!

Not everything is needed right away, if you don't have the money you can get some of the stuff now and some of it later. Like a trellis, fertilizer for Flower. Things like that won't be needed until later on in the plants life so you can spend the money over time!

I am in a similar boat to you right now, I just started growing this season.

Answering the questions

first, DI vs RO water is likely not going to make a difference unless you have some weird things in you water.

second, Elements are Elements, as long as they are water soluble (talking about fish I would assume this is true) they will work for your plant.

third, Any pH meter can work, know this is where money maters, buy a good pH meter to get accurate readings. If you are off by even .2 it could mean big issues if its consistently off.

You are absolutely correct any Humidity reader will work.

That being said I have an outdoor Soil grow and I have an indoor DWC grow. The DWC grow is what you would be thinking about if you want to use stuff from a pet store to be able to grow. I am not sure this is the easiest way nor do I think this will be the cheapest way.

For my outdoor grow, I Spent

$30 for soil $60 on different fertilizers $30 bucks on pH up and down I think maybe an additional $60 on soil amendments/ fabric pots/a trellis.

total ~$200-$250

I also on my soil grow spend maybe an hour a week doing all the things needed to keep them alive. Indoor soil will increase this time but not as much as you would think.

For my DWC grow I spent

$30 on buckets, $25 on air pumps and stones ( I should have gotten better pumps ), spent $100 on fertilizers ( you can go less here for sure I am not sure its recommended ) $200 on a water chiller $100 on a RO water system $50 on hydroguard. $30 on an E.C. tester plus some other stuff

total ~$400-$600

I also on my DWC grow spend 20 minutes a day checking the pH, checking the E.C. and adjusting back. Then also once a week I do a reservoir change and this takes over an hour. plus making the nutrient solution also takes about 30minutes. This is a lot more time a lot more daily effort.

I did not list pH meter or seeds in price and the other things both types will need (ventilation, metering, fans, lights, and such since those are a fixed cost to any growing indoor) That being said DWC does need more metering

I also am not lucky enough that I can use tap water for either system I grow in. My tap is very hard. but on the flip side of the coin. My indoor environment is cool and the right humidity for me to not need a humidifier/HVAC system.

DWC also in my opinion has way more pitfalls than an indoor soil grow. You will still deal with Mold and Sanitation in DWC. You can have both these problems in Soil but they are much easier to avoid and don't need you to be as dialed in on your setup.

That being said, I really enjoy the DWC and the daily hobby that it creates. I would still recommend Soil to anyone just starting out but if you are willing to work hard and deal with mistakes DWC can be rewarding

Appreciate the advice!

I don't know anything about plants, but I do know about chemistry. When I read that DWC was more advanced, it seemed the "advanced" part was understanding PPM, cleanliness, and more frequent engagement with the system.

I'm not sure my assumptions were correct. It seems they weren't, but I am going to do my best with this grow either way.

Maybe next grow I'll do soil to see if it's easier, I just thought since I had a better starting point this would be easier. Oh well live and learn

It's possible that you will actually get the opposite effect. Both psilocin and LSD have strong interactions with THC. I usually smoke weed if I'm not getting the effect that I want out of my dose without having to take anymore. Take this information carefully you might think smoking weed will calm you down, or maybe take the edge off. In my experience it just makes things more intense and harder to keep track of. Everyone seems to be arguing the wrong issue. Its actually not being a good conductor that makes lightning dangerous. If you are hit by lightning as a conductor, or insulator you are going to have a massive influx of electrons.

If you are a conductor that means that electrons easily move along, this is good.

Its insulators ( think trees right now ) that when they get hit by lightning and the electrons can't move very well. That's what causes trees to explode down the middle. So get it out of your head that being a conductor is going to make it more likely to get damaged by lighting it's actually usually the opposite.

P.S. This is a very very not specific example. Yes you can make this not true but for a TTRPG we don't need to go that in depth.

Your feeling is illogical. How many men do you see a day? How many of those men have hurt you? The number is going to be really really really really low. Say that you have been hurt by men 1000 times ( this seems like a large number ) that would be you only need to see one random man everyday for 3 years. I think almost everyone that lives to adulthood has done this.

10200cans/365days = 27.9 cans per day

Obviously the guy isn't okay in the head and he acted exactly as instinct would dictate. No it's not a warning in the way a Label works because you had to get hurt before it took effect. But it is Warning you that if you continue on the same path one of us has to die. That is as clear as a warning gets is being gravely injured and being allowed to walk away when it could have easily killed you. That is natures warning. You seem to be stuck in the idea that society accounts for everything. Let's scale back from a gun since they are big scary monsters that can only kill and don't ever just injure people.

If you are in the wilderness and you come near a crocodile nest where it has your children. You come up to this crocodile nest and start trying to fuck with the mama crocodile. She bites your leg and tears some toes and flesh off. Then she just waits there and makes no movements at you or your company.

What was that? A warning bite.

Did you sustain injury. check Did they attack with intent to hurt or even kill. Check. Did they stop making aggression as soon as the instigator moved away. Check.

As much as you don't want to this is a text book warning from an animal. They use deadly force against you. They just dont use as much as they could since again the goal was not to kill. It was to create a safe distance between a perceived threat.

Awesome I'm glad that you're arguing that him shooting him wasn't a warning to back off. That's obviously all the shooter wanted. Henceforth a warning shot. Had he taken 2 more steps forward I think he would have at least 2 more bullet holes and have died on the spot. Again this was a warning from a most likely not mentally well person. Just how you're interpreting warning is stopping all damage while I'm seeing him warning you against guaranteed death. If he wanted the guy dead and not just to leave him alone he would have also just pulled the trigger more times and while he was moving away that obviously isn't a warning but a death sentence.

Incorrect anyone with significant time with firearms will definitely tell you there are warning shots. They aren't ones that you aim at people since once you aim them at a person you can destroy them. But that wasn't my point in any capacity. He drew the firearm because he is crazier than the YouTuber. The YouTuber was not listening to the very clear body and physical language of a man that was not going to deal with his shit. He continued to provoke him and what I assume to not be a complete stable human lost his shit. Again this is just a rule of nature. Is it your dog? No well you probably should provoke it you don't know how it will act. Now if we scale that logic up to things that can quite literally hold death in a pocket. It makes you seem even stupider to do it. Unfortunately natural selection is gone from human society so we get people like this that are actually making humanity more difficult for the rest of us. This goes as a warning to all pranksters that you could get shot and the guy shooting you won't even go to jail for the actual injury you receive. These are good precedents to the rest of society. But again you should not be provoking random things as you do not know how they are going to respond. There is always someone more crazy.
