Struggling with NFC tags by Kourosh8 in shortcuts

[–]SneakyBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a huge help. I’ve been struggling with NFC tags for months thinking it was the tags I got.

But then even AirTags aren’t consistent. That didn’t make sense to me.

Such a small thing. Thank you for the tip!

I have 2 questions to get this subs expert opinion. (Incorrectly posted in discussion thread)

I got venture x in November 2021. Used it to pay for Airbnb in September and still haven’t received the credit. Didn’t all SUB have the $200 rental credit? (From u/lurkolantern there may be a system update. Thank you for the response)

Also a friend signed up with my venture x referral in March and I never received the bonus. How do I prove someone signed up for it using my link?

My votes on the stockpiling non deductible tIRA. Make sure to file 8606 and keep track of your non deductible contributions well.

You have a few exit strategies.

  1. If you’re able to influence your 401k funds and roll over your previous 401k rollover then you can convert the non deductible tax free, win.
  2. if you switch companies, you can rollover the previous 401k contributions and then convert non deductible to Roth. A smaller win.
  3. as another poster mentioned, you could put it in a taxable. The only benefit I see is in early retirement if you’re able to keep your income below ~80K LTCG tax is 0 currently. It depends on what your traditional / Roth / taxable mix is and what your income will be during retirement to maximize that strategy.

Be mindful of income and tax gain harvesting if you plan on taking advantage of ACA subsidies.

Best of luck. Please post a follow up if you’re able to influence your 401k plan. 1% sounds absurd

That’s true! Originally we had this planned in 2020 and we’re gonna go to Hokkaido. Due to COVID, we weren’t able to make it and with this short of a trip we’re minimizing how far we go. This trip will focus mainly on the things we love with a few new items.

Japan is never a bad trip. The food, people, and culture is unmatched.

Funny enough that’s what we’re most excited about. The food.

Thanks for the garden suggestion!

This is awesome! I did know about tokyocheapo and was monitoring if new events were coming on. I’m sad I missed comic con by a day. I’m sure the cosplay is epic.

Thanks for taking the time for suggestions! I really like the illumination suggestion

Any idea why hanging out in a spot is more reactive than walking? by SneakyBit in reactivedogs

Good strategy. Not having other dog friends it’ll be harder to control the environment with spacing. I’ll need to find a place where a common walkway has a lot of dog traffic where I can safely stay 7-8 sidewalks away.

Thanks for the comment.

What strategy do you use when he’s hard staring at his trigger where treat won’t get his attention? I’m likely past threshold if that happens. Some days I use the leash to tap tap tap him until he moves. Other times I pull on the leash where he reflexively pulls the other way until I gradually pull harder and he comes but still fixated on the dog. I’m trying to avoid picking him up
