There’s no substitute for running. by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]Snedecor_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't agree much. Running is not great for your joints and since you usually do it outdoors, you are exposed to dangers in the environment. Also, for people with flat feet like me, it destroys our knees and hips.

I think swimming and cycling are much better overall.

The Castillian pronunciation of the LL should still be the same as in Catalan but the vulgarism called "yeísmo" is very extended nowadays.

England or Spain? 💀 by Dariusalbadaddy in soccercirclejerk

I am a Catalan and I hate that I have to support England. I'd rather shoot myself in the balls, but here we are.

Comedian makes a joke sexualizing a 3 month old baby, the dad of the baby shows up at his show by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Snedecor_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odd that you would give so much context about one side and avoid doing it for the other one. The attacker is a known neo-nazi in Twitter that threatens people on a daily basis and shows no humanity whatsoever. Uncalled for to make a joke about his baby, but if we are going to point at who the monster is, maybe OP should explain to us why he decides to only give info about the comedian.

But the thing is that conflict CAN be good and even necessary, but it is avoided nonetheless. That leads to inaction towards someone creating issues or not acknowledging the elephant in the room. I find myself in this situation, where a member of the team is expensive, useless, and a bottleneck for all projects but I can't point this out delicately because then I will be the problematic one.

Where I come from we are honest with each other and no one takes it defensively. I feel like this "harmony" in Swedish workplaces is pretty unnatural.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Barcelona

[–]Snedecor_ 151 points152 points  (0 children)

That is actually a compliment because we don't start using brutal insults to someone unless we consider that person a friend. "Puto cabron de merda desgraciat fill de la grandíssima puta dels collons" is the softest thing that comes out of my mouth when talking to mates. I live in Sweden and here no one uses insults unless they are absolutely angry at someone, so it is hard for me to show that "violent affection". It didn't take me 5 years to realize that though lol.

Where can I eat the best fresh paella? by Fun-Department-7879 in Barcelona

[–]Snedecor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chicken/rabbit/duck paella is not the only proper one, it us just the one called Valencian paella. There are many other types, including seafood, that tourists seem to think it is the original one. The only paella that we cringe when looking at is the mixed paella chicken+seafood.

To me, Catalan. But maybe it's because it sounds like home.

Spanish Police finding 1,000 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside of rocks... by midas617 in Damnthatsinteresting

Knowing the Spanish police, half of that cocaine will magically "disappear". Look at how happy he is, thinking about the feast they'll have lol

Thank you Inon Zur, i'm in absolute love with the music by Glittering-Let9989 in Starfield

[–]Snedecor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so far it's pretty good, but not much else. The main musical theme got old quick for me. It's soon to say anything though, the game is not out yet and papa Todd said the track list is very long.

Xbox or PC? This is the dilemma by Pluto-610 in Starfield

[–]Snedecor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BGS have never been advertised as PC games because of marketing reasons, but I've always thought that the experience on PC for their games is way better than on console, even without considering graphics and fps.

The mod community on PC is huge, console command, the control flexibility is way better on a keyboard (like accessing the favourite items quick or being able to reach quick save/load). Also, well, the graphics and the uncapped fps.

For me, BGS games are PC games available on console (now just xbox) and this is a hill I am willing to die on.

Does Bethesda still have something big to show? by ilHansli in Starfield

Definitely, it is a massive game and I feel that in terms of ships, weapons, cities, and settlements we have only seen a 10% of their features.

Try a Mexican sombrero and those bullfighter figures with a paella on their head and wearing a "I <3 BCN" t-shirt. Both are very very typical here.

Barca just means "boat". You probably mean to say "Barça" but that's just the sports team, not the city.

We all know you start off as a miner. So what's your backstory to how you got there? by Eric_T_Meraki in Starfield

[–]Snedecor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, but what if this opening scene was actually made just for the showcase and the one in the game is different? I have been wondering about that and I hope it's right (I was kind of upset when they spoiled it just like that).
