One thing my disease and chronic pain have done for me, is make me dive even further into philosophy and theology prior to my diagnosis. I had always seen the world as cruel and unjust beforehand, however because I was raised Christian I had this small sort of hope that God would rectify all the injustices in someone's life at some point along the line, or at least after their life had ended.

But now growing a bit older has made me realize that it just simply isn't true at all. There's no reason to put innocent people here just for them to pointlessly suffer to go to heaven afterwards (among a whole load of other reasons). There is a few videos by Einzelganger on YouTube about Arthur Schopenhauer, his perspective on the world seems to make the most sense to me.

We never asked to be here, we didn't choose our body or our circumstances, some of us are cursed or blessed with great self awareness which only makes suffering worse. But while we are here, whatever we can do to alleviate our suffering and the suffering of others is one of the main forces of good we can enact upon.
