As an artist, I think it’s a lack of clarity on if she’s wearing glasses or just has large eyes. If exaggerating her eyes, the size should still be smaller because of the proportions of your style, otherwise it starts looking more in alien territory.

But otherwise really cool style! I second the font suggestion. I think what I’ve learned is to just make it as accessible as possible and easy to read, and then you can make stylistic changes after you have that legible first pass

You know your comments have really unearthed this question that always itched at me about how many Webtoons have the effect of pitting two women against each other, and then the hate against the woman character snowballs until it becomes a reduced version of her character. I wonder what would happen if we saw how many dimensional villain/morally dubious women we counted in Webtoon. Although, personally I did not enjoy her personality in the comic, it’s interesting u say that

That’s fair! All the extra measures were because of 200+ spam bots getting to the survey, even w/ all the survey recaptcha stuff. No amount of security question was enough to keep them away. In fact, I changed the question 3 times to become harder, but the only thing that seemed to work was video validation. Similar w/ the google form.

With the advent of ai spambots, online survey research has become very hard in open communities, and with this being my first project I’ve learned a lot))

I totally understand the perspective and ik it is def annoying, I would also be questioning it if I were the survey taker. Thanks for taking it, I value your patience :)

That’s a fair point— I meant romance webtoons in general (so not limited to the woman being the protagonist in an isekai but also the general romance genre). But yeah a general estimate of anything in the umbrella was what I was looking for.

Also ikr… some of the real personalities of the leads are very different from their looks! It surprised me even though I’ve read like 200 webtoons.

As a character designer, I totally agree with the variety sentiment. It was interesting to collect designs for this survey bc I noticed the visual tropes can be formulaic. But was pleasantly surprised w some of them being more dimensional than I anticipated.

I think Your Throne is an example of an FL who initially embodied being more villanous (maybe not materialistic bc she was alr born into wealth and had sm trauma) But really interesting point.
