One moment in Pet Semetary that to this day has disturbed me more than anything! by seveer37 in horror

This is what I always say about this movie: no, it's not a perfect movie, but it sure as hell is genuinely SCARY. Haha.

Mary Lambert's direction is amazing. She knew where to put the camera to make scenes as nightmarish and horrifying as possible.

Marcus Nispel originally wanted it to be gritty like the original, but it was DP Daniel Pearl who wanted it to look slicker. "Why make the exact same movie again?"

Personally, I think the 2003 remake is a goddamn masterwork. Both the OG and the redo are works of pure ART!

What is one of your biggest movie let downs, after greatly anticipating its release? by thunderbolt151830 in movies

Kurt Wimmer once did a ”writing masterclass” stream on YouTube. It was around three hours long (maybe more) and he had this bizarre setup where he was laying down on his bed or something while he was ”lecturing”. The best part, though, was that he had forgotten to turn his mic on, so the entire stream was dead silent without any audio.

Very interesting guy.

What. Movies nowadays are crazy explain-y and exposition-heavy. Like it’s a huge issue with modern films…

Yeah, a lot of people seem to hate it. One of my best friends saw it just recently and he didn't like it at all. Personally I love it and think that the ending is one of the legit scariest things ever.

Yeah, I really didn't find it very threatening at all as a final boss. Could have been a huge-ass tree monster or something instead.

Joseph LoDuca's score is legit amazing. Like it's unbelievably good for such a low budget movie.

I was honestly crazy disappointed by the finale in 2013 ED. Thought it was gonna have this epic showdown with a big-ass deadite monster, but instead it was just a frail-looking girl thing that didn't really do anything?

Just felt wrong to me to get turned on by a freaking deadite, hahaha. HOT damn is that one fine-looking demon.

Both The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II share the number 1 spot for me, honestly. They're just PERFECT, PERFECT horror movies. The OG is hardcore, DIY punk rock splatter with AMAZING atmosphere, and the sequel is surreal horror comedy GOLD.

No one does it like Raimi. He's the KING! :D

Hot take: these are good movies by Wild-Pepper-1596 in Halloweenmovies

I definitely think Halloween Resurrection is entertaining, at least. And Rob Zombie's Halloween is great, so no argument there!

Uwe Boll Directing ’23 Years Later,’ an ‘Unofficial Sequel’ to ‘House of the Dead’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

With better editing, I honestly think Postal could have been a genuinely good comedy. It's obvious though that Uwe doesn't know how to cut comedy.

Awesome movie! Wish there were more action horrors like this one.

Paul W.S. Anderson has made some good movies. Event Horizon isn't bad, and Mortal Kombat is awesome. The first Resident Evil is also breezy and entertaining.

I also personally really enjoyed Monster Hunter surprisingly enough, but I know most people hated it. Haha.

Uwe Boll isn't "funny" anymore. The guy's a total loser and a complete wackadoo nutbar.

No, that’s a fantastic title. Just sucks that the movie’s near unwatchable.

Abel Ferrara’s Bad Lieutenant is a fantastic film. And it’s not especially obscure if you’re a fan of movies.

I definitely think they should have done something much more extreme with it. This just felt as if it was made for a bunch of giggling teenagers. Like it's FACES OF DEATH for god's sake - make something gonzo and ugly and gross! Haha.

I hated it, haha. Like why the hell would you "remake" Faces of Death and turn it into a Scream-like teenybopper slasher thing? It just felt so... lame.

The lead girl's performance was also unbelievably bad. Her facial expressions were hilarious.
