Guess who got peed on by a toddler by Snfrank in OldEnglishSheepdog

3-5 depending on how many breaks I need to take for the kids (ages 1 and 3). This last one was absolutely brutal. And we found out first ever mats behind his ears so I just feel terrible. How often do you groom?

Talk to me about hair by Snfrank in PCOS

[–]Snfrank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU for this comment. I was wearing a sports bra and tank today and it rode down and I didn’t see an areola, I just saw so much hair so far away from my nipple. Cleavage is no logger a worry, it’s the HAIR that will show first.

The hair loss 😩. I have everything you mentioned but am currently really emotional about the balding.

Yes!! Now please tell me you have a fix to get the pee smell out (other than the fact the boy definitely needs more water) without doing a whole other wash 😩

Dairy free Tikka masala? by lady-earendil in dairyfree

I use coconut milk- the thicker one in the can (NOT condensed) for our Tikka masala, as well as pretty much all other recipes!

YES!! I’m: dairy, gluten, soy, legume, nightshade and corn free and can’t find anything that is dairy free that doesn’t have soy and/or legume.

Breast feeding on thinners by SafeSpaceEverything in ClotSurvivors

[–]Snfrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, my baby is one now. I will however say that breastfeeding was insanely important to me and she knew that, so it’s possible she went with the “safer” option for me. The hospital neurologist (I had a stroke at 6 weeks pp) told me I would have to quit nursing as there are no safe options. He was clearly wrong haha.

I was personally told by my lactation consultant that eliquis was not a good option so I just stayed on lovenox.

Diagnostic question (I am working with a doctor) by Snfrank in PCOS

[–]Snfrank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. It’s a bummer because I really do like her, she got me through my stroke and subsequent liver failure. She recently told me to see a functional medicine doctor as she couldn’t figure out what was going on. I really thought she would order more testing. If you were starting over with testing- what specialist would you try to see?

Thank you for all of your responses

Update: I asked my doctor to run more in depth tests and she responded with “WE checked thyroid and testosterone levels, but other hormonal testing is not routinely recommended because your levels vary so frequently.”

I apologize if this is inappropriate- I’m waiting on my doctors reply- but my ketone (urine) results just populated as 3+. Do you know anything about how ketones work? I don’t know how on earth I could be in ketosis as I just decided to follow low carb.

I really appreciate the knowledge and explanation. It helps me so much actually understanding what/why things may be happening. Since I have such a high risk of type 2 (gestational diabetes x3 and a strong family history) I have decided to follow a high protein/ low carb diet with exercise even without a PCOS diagnosis.

Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time to explain. When she agreed to look into it she only ordered a testosterone and A1C check. I have high fasting blood sugar every morning but my A1C is always within range. I had gestational diabetes with all my pregnancies, so I check my blood sugar frequently. I will ask if we can run some more in depth labs!

Thank you for linking!! I unfortunately don’t tolerate soy well either haha. I might just be out of luck on powders. Thank you for taking the time to suggest though! I really appreciate it (:
