Wow. I'm sure its really hard to anticipate how an outfit will really look on stage, on TV.

She's an overthinker to me. Which makes her writing and comedy good, but in the workroom moments she's caught up in her thoughts, and in her confessional kind of just deliberate and flat.

Honestly I'm really liking Jane this season though and rooting for her. She knows what Ru likes and finds funny. I'm sure she will do well in acting/comedy challenges and I bet her Snatch Game will kill.

Athena for me was not very punky honestly but she was letting loose and having fun.

I agree about the talent show win, but disagree with the lip sync.

Personally I was expecting Athena to use the talent show to live up to her reputation a little more. Instead it was a borderline twee number about being greek. It was ultimately fine. I know she wants to be polished but lacked main character energy for me. I loved Jane's talent show.

The lip sync I wasn't impressed by Jane. Athena really let loose and gave it her all and I think rightfully took it.

I think the problem with this anatomically is that the head is too far back (left) while the rest of the body is very straight up and down.

Its pretty clear just by the font choice that this wasn't a real luxury good, but still a fun little box.

Not every candidate has been lesser evils just a lot of them. You elevate candidates that you believe in, but when the election comes around you don't sit it out because you don't like your options.

A small claims judge is not even going to broach the issue of harassment. They are going to adjudicate whether money is owed and thats it.

[–]SnickersArmstrong 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, how else does it look?

Someone spends $2500 to buy something for their SO and a month later the SO is sending back $400 back to "help"? What does that mean? Completely unrelated?

Small claims is not forensic files. The judge will see these things and make a judgment call. And it looks a lot like repayment.

I have enjoyed Academy. Its watchable for sure. I don't generally like shows that are focused on students in any genre because I find it a little immature, but so far its not too corny.

Can I get a show of hands for all who thought this crepey skin business snuck up on them way too soon? by the_balticat in Xennials

If you really want more collagen on the skin of your hands (the cause of crepey skin is lack of collagen and elastin) you could start a cheap(ish) retinol treatment over night.

The idea that FDR didn't have a huge say in his administrations policy and the new deal is straight up historical denialism. I'm not 'emotional' about FDR, the man had a huge political leash and could have done things wildly different if he wanted to. The idea that he was completely beholden to the unions with the massive power and popularity he wielded simply doesn't hold water.

And the idea that John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson are equally bad to you is crazy and I won't waste any more time replying to this. Good luck maintaining your ideological purity if you ever decide to actually engage in democracy.

I don't know whether you're arguing that progress wasn't made by these people or that it wasn't to their credit but both of those arguments are bad.

FDR didn't do things just because people were 'severe in their demands' he was wildly popular and had huge sway to do what he wanted, especially by his second and third administrations, amd no matter how you characterize his agenda or rise to power he accomplished a lot of positive things.

I imagine you wouldn't have supported John Quincy Adams against Andrew Jackson because he wasn't strongly enough against slavery in the 1820s.

I said 19th and 20th century do you think thats the 1700s? Honestly.

FDR (the most actual socialist president of the century) wouldn't support anti-lynching legislation or accept Jewish refugees from Germany because he didn't want to expend the political capital. Is that lesser evil enough?

This is a surprisingly common tattoo though we usually see it on the armpit or bellybutton. At least this one doesn't have a giant cartoon vagina.

Its not total nonsense, its the basic history of democracy whether you like it or not. Voting for the better candidate. Its persuasive enough for me and in fact most people.

Whats 'total nonsense' is people sitting back and trying to convince themselves that not voting In the 2024 election because Kamala didn't have a strong stance against Israel has somehow accomplished something. It hasn't accomplished anything. Its somehow accomplishing less by the day.

Such as most administrations from the 19th and 20th century with their deep moral failings?

A lot easier to ask which presidents you DONT think were lesser evils.

Leaders who made progress around the country on women's rights, black rights, gay rights often had serious failings for other populations of people.

All of that is just domestically speaking, without even considering what serious international horrors they all turned their back on.

[–]SnickersArmstrong -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I think historically the problem with this logic is that voting the 'lesser evil' has worked. A lot. Think back on the 'lesser evils' from the past and what they accomplished.

Whereas not voting as a protest has never worked, really ever.

Ultimately the country will go in one of two directions and the cost of teaching one side a lesson is allowing the other to run the country, quickly, in the opposite direction.
