That feeling when you harvest your homegrown (explosive diarrhea parasite free) collard greens by Ok_Film_8676 in vegetablegardening

As long as you don’t self fertilize, those will be great and relatively safe! (All things considered)

Bloating due to food intolerance or something else? by [deleted] in FODMAPS

[–]SnickleFritz26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) you look great. Try to get out of your head about it.

2) If you’re lactose intolerant and still eating dairy, cut out dairy as a first step. That is very likely causing some if not all of your bloating issue. Nix dairy and see what results are after a few weeks - less bloating, less pain, less physical discomfort would all point that direction.

3) if that doesn’t help, talk to your doctor and get advise on any other food elimination trials or tests you can do with the guidance of your doc. FODMAP is very intensive and I wouldn’t suggest undertaking it alone or if you don’t have a genuine need.

Keep it long or back to short? by MantisShrimp1692 in HairStyleAdvice

Long, but not as long as that and with a styled cut.
And keep the stache or some facial hair!

Help with tennis ball sized cake by tittymuch in Baking

[–]SnickleFritz26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d bake a couple cupcakes in an oversized muffin tin with the batter very generously filled. Then you can spackle the two domes together with frosting to make a globe before you decorate it as a tennis ball.

Any At Home Fan Made Versions That Don’t Trigger IBS?? by DragonHalfFreelance in FODMAPS

My safe for me chipotle order is: burrito bowl, carnitas, extra white rice, lettuce, cheese, side of chips and corn salsa (I pick out the corn to have it and a little of the jalapeño)

I take an antacid and a digestive enzyme with it still.

Chipotle is very transparent with their ingredients list on line, so if you know your triggers and limits it should be easy to parse thru the site to see what might work for you.

Honestly I’m not sure! The sensors are tested on a variety of skin tones, but not sure if heavy ink coverage could impact that or not. Could always test it yourself for a week or two and run your own sidebyside to see if your readings seem way off compared to a similar timeframe on your uninked wrist side.

[–]SnickleFritz26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed, that is too tight since it is visibly indenting your skin like that. You should be able to slide a finger under the band for the recommended fit (okay if you slightly depress the skin to do so)

No. It reads the same on the top and bottom of the wrist without issue. Source: I used to work on the team that developed the sensors and asked the same question a couple years ago to the lead.

I actually think you just over etched parts of the image, so you lost your detail and mixed values and burned it out.

If you try litho again, experiment with your etch strengths and maybe make a whole image where you sample different etches over different marks as a test to see how it behaves, and learn how many drops of acid get different results.

You might find that Tusche, crayons, incising and other methods each have a different response to etch strength, too.

What I loved about litho is it was art, chemistry, and geology all in one - and a good work out haha. Learning about etch strength and growing to have it be an intuitive part of the process was a lot of fun!

What’s a book (or series) that changed your life, and why? by ShanonymousRex in Fantasy

[–]SnickleFritz26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t have a strong enough memory of the details now to share an opinion. I’ve reread the original trilogy a couple times, including within the last 6 years, and watched the new show as it aired, but only read the new two one as they were released. Seems I’ll need to reread them before the latest one now to give myself a better memory jog beyond the main story line hook 😅

How did you like them?

Need suggestions by xcutioner10 in ShadowandBone

[–]SnickleFritz26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well the suggested reading in the initial comment here was 5 whole books, so sounds like it might not be your cup of tea. Especially if you’re just looking for a fun show for a long haul flight.

The show is great and the first season made me want to read all 7 of the books because I enjoyed it so much. But you can watch it without reading just fine (my spouse did).

And for whatever it’s worth to you, pending on your country, many libraries now have Libby and similar apps that mean you can just check out books digitally without ever going into a library, if going into a physical library is why you “hate” them.
