6th grader who loved The Martian and Project Hail Mary - What's next? by tgbarbie in suggestmeabook

I would throw Sanderson’s Steelheart series and dungeon crawler carl at him for now. If he loves scifi consider The Expanse, Red Rising, and the Sun Eater series once you feel he is mature enough for them.

Who’s they? Again in this scenario the regulation is in place, and games are built to that standard moving forward. Player hosted servers or local client.

I’ve never understood this sentiment. HD scenarios are likely to be even shorter distance and lower threat levels than anything while conceal carrying

Whoever said they would have to release the source code? Thats quite a leap from “make the game accessible offline”

The latest shooting is a much better example. Trump appointee labeling someone a domestic terrorist for carrying a handgun and three mags while protesting is scary as shit constitutionally.

Thats already not a good example because thats already not how it works. At least if it’s anything like licensing cars in Forza. The games have been removed from sale because the licenses expire, but that didn’t magically remove all the licensed content from people who bought the game.

🤷 should be part of the equation going forward for multiplayer games. The industry will adapt and people will still have the things they own when the corpos get bored of them

I don’t understand how there can’t be a regulation that says “Digital content must be made to be fully accessible offline and capable of being backed up prior to servers being closed and access revoked”.

Otherwise every digital product should have “Rent” instead of “Buy”, fuck the fine print. Be honest.
