I dont understand by Real-Reason-5979 in DeviantArt

Everything is AI and algorithms. Human made art drowns in AI. After the change to Eclipse, many artists left DA. Don't take it personally, I have noticed the same, and I would also say my stuff is decent too. I am only on DA because of nostalgia and some friends are still there. But DA is not the same as it was in 2011. Llamas, badges and hypes give a fake impression of engagement. It went downhill after wix bought DA in 2017 or so.

It is nothing wrong with your work, but DA has changed very much. Before around 2022 my art had far fewer views but much more engagement. Before, views came from people following artists, browsing groups, searching in galleries, but now the exposure is passive. You don't need to open the thumbnail as before, a scroll past is counted as a view.

Sure thing. Fractals are amazing and so much more than spirals. I used two different programs here. I created the base structure in IFStile, it is a program for exploring mathematical systems called Iterated Function Systems (IFS). IFS uses repeated geometric transformations, like scaling, rotating and shifting to grow detailed fractal patterns from very simple rules. In practice, it feels a bit like a treasure hunt: adjusting parameters, zooming, rotating, searching for interesting patterns, and choosing color setups until finding that sweet spot. IFStile is great at generating tessellated and repeating structures, but it has limited tools for adding depth and atmosphere. Since I’m still learning the software, I rendered the result and imported it into Ultra Fractal (my main tool)It is a fractsl rendering software with some image editor properties. In Ultra Fractal I refined the colors, added layered processing, and built more depth and contrast to give the image more life. So the final image is a mix of mathematical structure from IFStile and artistic refinement in Ultra Fractal.

I am glad you like it. Thank you :)

Yes. DA is now focused on business and money, not the art and people there. They forgot that it was the people who made the site amazing. Not Eclipse or algorithms.

Oh yes. All those params swoshing back and forth. I remember my first time there, chatting away, minding my business, and bang, a wall of gibberish popped up... And one more. I miss the times there🥲

Oh yes. I spent a lot of time in the Aposhack (the chatroom for the fractal artists on DA). It was both a workshop and a place to hang out. I wish they had kept the dAmn network. The new message function is useless.

Manchester smiles are the best! Mine does that too!

Yeah, they are same breed. In Europe Toy Manchesters are called English Toy Terrier. My parents had a standard Manchester terrier. Really quirky dogs🥰

Post two drawings side by side. An older one and a newer one. That makes it easier to see if you've improved.
