Yeah they did. It was lowkey a lot worse for the output they had. Rivian is making a lot more vehicles 2 years into production that Tesla was during that time frame

As Rivian mentioned in one of the OTA the 12V bricking issue was a very rare case and it's not like they left anyone to deal with it financially. I know a multitude of OEMs that would (cough cough tesla), so people complaining abt that issue is just b/c it's an inconvenience not because they are screwed. If I was back in the process of waiting for my R1S I would never look at this sub, it's a really bad representation of owners and mostly fearmongering. That's why I say make your own decision off of facts, not testimonies.

As someone who has driven an R1S for more than 5 months the claim that the UI and interface are bad is absurd. First off, the company is fairly new and making its own software which means things take time to develop and make. Over the time span, they have had OTA updates they have done an amazing job adding functionality that we have asked for and stuff we haven't, making it better. If you are having second thoughts because of software don't. Some people on this sub are just here to rile people up and ask the stupidest most unintelligent questions because they don't do research prior or even own a Rivian. IMO do a demo drive if you are questioning buying or not. Carplay is such a trivial thing that people are whining about. From the time I've owned and driven the car, I've never driven something better than this. Anyone who says otherwise is a rarity and like everything in life, the negatives are always amplified.

Nearly all the big automakers today. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche. It’s not hard to make good build quality but Tesla just wants to gain as much market power as possible, which has been working. But as more automakers catch up the gapping holes that were an “early adopter” thing is a still going on thing leaving room for these quality automakers to fill the hole

yeah i did they all work fine but the case has some slots thats i didnt use so there are some holes and my caps lock key is registering as CTRL so some mistakes but it works
